IMD has issued an alert regarding heavy rains in many states of the country today. There is also a possibility of storm and lightning during this period. According to IMD, today there will be heavy rain in the northeastern states of Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. During this period, there is also a possibility of storms and lightning. Apart from this, light/moderate to heavy rains are also likely over Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. However, later it will gradually reduce.

Cloud burst has caused a lot of destruction in Sikkim. Landslides occurred at many places and 23 army personnel are reported missing. There is an alert of heavy rain in West Bengal, North Bangladesh, Bhutan and Western Assam including Sikkim during the next 24 to 48 hours. There may be more incidents of cloudburst during this period. The weather in Maharashtra including Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan will remain almost dry.

Monsoon has departed from North Madhya Pradesh and West Uttar Pradesh including the entire Rajasthan and many parts of Gujarat. Soon it will bid farewell to other parts of Central India. A low-pressure area is lying over Jharkhand, due to which heavy rains will continue in the northeastern states including East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh to Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and some parts of Orissa. Rainfall will reduce in the southern states. There will be a huge reduction in rain activities in Maharashtra also.

Southwest Monsoon has withdrawn from parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Monsoon has also bid farewell to Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, western Uttar Pradesh, northern Madhya Pradesh and some other parts of Rajasthan. The monsoon has ended at 94%. A deep low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal and a depression in the Arabian Sea will give heavy rains in many states. There are chances of heavy rain over West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, Goa, South Konkan and Karnataka coast.
