Cyclonic storm Biparjoy, which raged in the Arabian Sea, has finally hit the coast of Gujarat. The storm made landfall in the Kutch region of Gujarat, during which strong winds were blowing at a speed of about 115 to 125 kmph. Due to the storm, it is currently raining heavily in many areas of Gujarat. According to the Meteorological Department, similar rains will continue in Gujarat till midnight. After heavy rains in Gujarat, strong winds are blowing in Kutch, Jamnagar and Dwarka. Due to this, pictures of falling of electric poles and trees are also coming to the fore. Therefore, electricity has also been cut in these areas for the time being.

Cyclone Biparjoy has now turned towards Gujarat and is likely to hit the northwest coast of Gujarat by the evening of June 15. The wind speed at the time of landfall will be 130 to 140 km. Strong winds with heavy rains will occur in many districts of Gujarat including Pakistan’s Sindh province. There are chances of heavy rains in many districts of Rajasthan as well. From June 18 to June 20, rains may occur in parts of North Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. After this the storm will weaken after reaching Uttarakhand.

Biparjoy storm becomes severe, there will be heavy rain in many areas

Cyclone Biparjoy will now move in the northeast direction and make landfall on the northwest coast of Gujarat. The wind speed can be up to 140 kilometers per hour. Very high waves will rise in the sea and water can fill many areas along the seashore. All the people living on the west coast of Gujarat are requested to remain in safe places from the morning of 15th June till the evening of 15th June.

Monsoon progress is sluggish, Mumbai along with the coastal districts of Maharashtra will continue to receive rain. But the wait for the rains of monsoon will continue. At present, heatwave conditions are continuing over Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh including Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Due to which the possibility of relief is not visible at the moment.

Monsoon knocked in these states, heavy rain started

The Southwest Monsoon has advanced further and covered West Bengal and North East Bihar. Soon it may reach Mumbai in Maharashtra along with parts of Bihar, West Bengal and Jharkhand. The storm Biparjoy formed in the Arabian Sea will move towards Gujarat from June 14 and will hit the Gujarat coast on June 15 as a severe storm. After landfall, its impact will cause heavy rains in southern and western districts of Rajasthan including Gujarat and Sindh province of Pakistan.

Cyclone Viparjoy hit the sea coast, now it will rain heavily

Cyclone Viparjoy will now move towards Gujarat. After hitting northern parts of Gujarat, it is likely to give heavy rains over Gujarat and Rajasthan including Sindh province of Pakistan. By June 17 and 18, rain activities can reach Delhi, Punjab and Haryana. Heat wave conditions will prevail over Telangana and Andhra Pradesh including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar and Odisha. During the next two-three days, Monsoon is likely to extend up to East India as well.

Monsoon is progressing fast and at present it has covered the North Eastern states. It has also reached the coastal parts of Karnataka and will soon reach Maharashtra, West Bengal and Bihar. There may be rain with dust storm in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi. Cyclone Biperjoy will strengthen further. After the morning of June 12, it may move towards Karachi. The western districts of Gujarat are at risk of strong winds and rain.

Monsoon has knocked in Kerala but there is no possibility of heavy rains in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Monsoon will soon reach the northeastern states and give heavy to very heavy rains. West Uttar Pradesh including Rajasthan, Delhi, Punjab and Haryana may experience dust storm accompanied with showers. Cyclone Biparjoy has become extremely severe, but no state in India is seeing much danger from it. Soon this storm will start changing its course and after June 11, it will move away from the coast of India in the northwest direction.

At present, most of the weather models are showing the track of Cyclone Biparjoy in the northwest direction. The threat to Gujarat and Maharashtra from the storm is very less. The possibility of danger is less visible in Southern Sindh and Baluchistan, but it may stop towards Oman. At this time it seems that it will weaken even before landfall and no country will be harmed. Dust storm will continue in Rajasthan, there will be light rain in the mountains. Monsoon will knock over Kerala within the next 2 days. The onset of monsoon will be weak.

Why is there delay in arrival of monsoon, when will monsoon rain start?

The low pressure area over southeast Arabian Sea is causing delay in monsoon. The onset of monsoon over Kerala will be delayed for some more time. There is a low pressure area in the Southeast Arabian Sea, which can strengthen into a depression and then become a storm Biparjoy. Most of the weather models are predicting this storm to move in northwest direction and divert it from south of Gujarat towards Oman. There may be rain with dust storm in Rajasthan. Light rain is possible over the hills and Odisha including northeastern states for the next two days. Moderate rains may occur over Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and heavy rains over Lakshadweep.
