The sea storm can easily reach very close to North Andhra Pradesh. It will move in the northeast direction reaching between Machilipatnam and Visakhapatnam and may give heavy rains in the southern districts of Orissa as well. By the afternoon of May 11, it will weaken and move towards the southwest Bay of Bengal. The heatwave may occur in Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh from May 12. Heatwave will continue over North Madhya Maharashtra including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Marathwada.

The Meteorological Department said on Sunday that cyclonic storm ‘Asani’ is likely to intensify further in the next 24 hours. However, the cyclone is also likely to weaken by next week without hitting the coastal region.

During the last 24 hours, due to the effect of rain and thunderstorm, the temperature has dropped in Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh including Madhya Pradesh and all over India and there is some respite from the heat.
