Scattered thunderstorms or light rain is possible in some states of North India also, due to which the temperature will drop and there will be relief from the heatwave. Due to the scorching heat in many states of the country, the power crisis has deepened. Banda district of Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest ever temperature of 47.4 degrees Celsius. New records were made in many districts, but now there may be some relief soon due to the commencement of pre-monsoon activities in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Orissa.

At this time the temperature remains very high but there is a possibility of getting relief from May 2.
