Farmers to Receive ₹5000 Each as Government Boosts Organic Farming

Farmers to Receive ₹5000 Each as Government Boosts Organic Farming

At the time of India’s independence, the country faced a severe food crisis, which worsened over the next two decades. To address this, chemical fertilizers and pesticides were introduced to increase crop production. While this succeeded in boosting yields, it also degraded soil fertility. Recognizing this, there has been a growing global shift toward natural and organic farming. The Indian government is actively promoting this transition. Currently, organic farming is practiced across 65 lakh hectares in India. Joining this effort, Madhya Pradesh is set to make a significant impact in organic farming. The state government has decided to provide ₹5,000 per hectare annually to farmers adopting organic farming.

Farmers will receive this subsidy for three years, during which they can procure agricultural inputs from any source. Additionally, the government will monitor and maintain records of their farming activities during this period. Over one lakh farmers in Madhya Pradesh have already embraced organic farming, and the government aims to increase this number significantly.

Get a Huge Subsidy on Wheat and Gram Sowing: Here’s the Government’s Plan!

Get a Huge Subsidy on Wheat and Gram Sowing

The Rabi season has begun, and farmers are busy sowing their crops. If you hear that the government is offering a subsidy on crop sowing, it might sound unbelievable—but it’s true! Farmers in Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, can avail of this benefit specifically for wheat and gram crops.

This scheme aims to make farmers self-reliant by reducing their expenses and ensuring higher profits through better yields. Speaking about the initiative, the district’s Agriculture Officer stated, “A subsidy scheme is being implemented for the farmers of Burhanpur. Farmers purchasing wheat seeds for two hectares will receive a subsidy of ₹300. Similarly, those buying 1 quintal of gram seeds for two hectares will get a subsidy of ₹1,000 per quintal.”

To avail of this subsidy, farmers must apply at the Agriculture Department office. The seeds will be provided from the same office upon successful application. However, note that the subsidy is applicable only to farmers with more than two hectares of land. The application process will remain open until December.
