  • Symptoms of  Whitefly:- This pest causes a lot of damage in potato crops in both the stages of its life cycle i.e. nymph and adult.
  • They suck the cell sap out of cotton plant leaves and inhibit plant growth. These insects are also the cause for the secretion known as a sooty mold developed on the plant.
  • Potato crops can get completely infected during high infestation and even if the crop is fully developed, there is a chance of infestation of this pest which can cause the leaves of this crop to dry up and fall.
  • Management: – For the prevention of this pest, Diafenthiuron 50% SP @ 250 gram/acre or Flonicamid 50% WG @ 60 ml/acre or acetampyrid 20% SP @ 100 gram/acre or Pyriproxyfen 10% + biphenanthrene 10% EC 250 ml/acre

Get insurance for Rabi crops, crop damage will be compensated

Farmers are currently busy sowing rabi crops. But in the midst of this busyness, the farmers should not forget to insure their crops. This helps your crop from natural calamities and you do not have to suffer much.

Farmers can get insurance for crops of Rabi season 2020-21 under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme. The last date for insurance is 31 December 2020. Explain that under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme in the kharif season, the farmers who were insured for the crops were compensated for the crop loss.

  • Pod borer mainly harms pods of the pea crop. This insect damages the pea pod by piercing it and eating its grain inside.
  • To control this, spray Emamectin benzoate 5% SG @ 100 gram/acre or flubendiamide 39.35% SC @ 100 gram/acre or chlorantraniliprole 18.5% SC @ 60 ml/acre.
  • Spray Bavaria Basiana @ 250 gram/acre as a biological treatment.

Preparation to increase farmers' income by opening 10 thousand new FPOs

Union Agriculture Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar talked about increasing the income of farmers by opening 10 thousand new FPOs. He said these things at the inauguration ceremony of the Honey Farmer Producer Organization Program of the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Limited held recently.

During this, the Agriculture Minister launched 5 new FPOs of beekeepers / honey collectors in 5 states under the Central Government’s plan to make 10,000 FPOs. These new FPOs have been made in Morena in Madhya Pradesh, Sundarbans in West Bengal, East Champaran in Bihar, Bharatpur in Rajasthan and Mathura District of Uttar Pradesh.

Mr. Tomar said here that “With the formation of 10,000 new farmer producing organizations, the lives of small and medium farmers will change and their income will increase considerably, whereas the sweet revolution will make India an important place in the world.”

2 crore farmers removed from beneficiary list of PM Kisan Yojana

Under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Samman Nidhi Yojana, 2000 rupees of seventh installment has started to be sent to the bank accounts of the beneficiary farmers from December 1. However, now it has been reported that more than 2 crore farmers’ names have been removed from this scheme.

This step is being taken by the government with an aim to crack down on fake farmers. A few days ago, the number of beneficiary farmers on the portal of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi was close to 11 crores, but after this step taken by the government, this number has now come down to 9 crores 97 lakhs.

It is worth noting that the government puts an installment of Rs 2,000 in the bank account of farmers at an interval of every four months. So far 6 installments have been sent under this scheme and currently the seventh installment is being sent.
