Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana has been launched to promote the fish farming business in the country. The objective of this scheme is to provide self-employment to unemployed people through fisheries. Under this, grants are made available by the government to the people for fisheries.

According to this scheme, there is a provision of giving a 60% grant for scheduled caste and women. Apart from this, a 40% subsidy is being given to the general category for fisheries. This scheme is also for those farmer brothers and people who do not have enough canal water available. Or even though there is underground water, the water is saline and saline. In such a situation, the business of white lobster can be done. With the help of which there will be a bumper earning of Rs 5 to 6 lakh per acre.

Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana

Fish farming is promoted under the “Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana”. For this the state governments invite applications. Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana

To promote fish farming, the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana has been launched in the financial year 2020-21. This scheme has been launched to help increase fish production and productivity. This will also increase the income of fish farmers.

There are various provisions under this scheme. These provisions include fish seed production hatchery construction, construction of new ponds for fish seed culture, construction of new ponds, pangasius fisheries, mixed fish farming, tilapia fisheries.

Under this scheme, 60% subsidy will be given to the beneficiaries coming from Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes and Women. Along with this, 40% subsidy will be given to the beneficiaries coming from general category and other backward classes.

The demand for fish is increasing in the country and abroad and in view of this, in the coming five years, the government will promote the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana in the whole country and will also spend Rs.20050 crore under this scheme. The government has set a target to double the limit for export of fish during this period.
