Earn 8 lakh rupees annually from fish farming, government is giving subsidy up to 60%

In many states including Bihar, fish farming is becoming a low-cost, profitable business for farmers and youth. Under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), the government is also giving subsidy ranging from 40% to 60%. SC/ST and women get more subsidy. Only 1200 square feet of land and an investment of about ₹3 lakh is enough to start on a small scale.

If fish farming is done scientifically, it is possible to earn up to ₹5–8 lakh annually from one acre of pond. With the help of training, technical assistance and advanced fish species by the government, this business has become even easier. Aquarium fish farming is also becoming a profitable option in urban areas.
