At present, the temperature in most parts of the country is running at 40 degrees and above. A fresh Western Disturbance has reached the mountains, under whose influence heavy rains may occur over the mountains for the next three or four days. Rain and thundershowers may occur in many parts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and West Uttar Pradesh. Hail may also fall at one or two places.

Between April 18 and 20, there is a possibility of heavy rains over Punjab, Haryana and the mountains, which may cause damage to crops. On April 20, there may be showers with thunder and lightning in Delhi and its surrounding areas. On April 20 itself, there may be rains in South India including Rajasthan, South Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Before April 30, rain activities will increase in India.

Rain activities are likely to start once again over Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan as well as Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and South India. However, rains in Rajasthan will not cause much damage. Due to increase in temperature in North West Central and East India, the heat will be at its peak. There are chances of the heat wave in Ganga, West Bengal and Odisha.

Two western disturbances will come continuously from 15th April. From the night of April 15 to April 23, there may be heavy rains over the mountains. The effect of Western Disturbance will also be visible in some districts of Punjab and Haryana. Rain may also occur over southern parts of Madhya Pradesh including South Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, and Interior Tamil Nadu. The outbreak of severe heat is now visible in the country which may increase further.

The maximum temperature of around 42 degrees Celsius is being observed over Odisha including many districts of Maharashtra. In Madhya Pradesh including Rajasthan and Gujarat, the temperature has crossed the 40 mark. Now the temperature will rise further and the possibility of heat waves is increasing. Rain and thundershowers are possible in many districts of Maharashtra on 13 and 14 April. During the next 2 days, there may be thunder and lightning over West Rajasthan including southern parts of Gujarat. At the end of the week, a fresh Western Disturbance may again give heavy rains over the mountains.

July can get 95% of the rainfall compared to normal. This figure will be 92% in August and 90% in September. The Indian Ocean Dipole is currently looking positive but it is difficult to say from now on how much it will affect the monsoon.

Today there may be thunder and lightning in some parts of South Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat, light showers are also possible in one or two places. Light showers are also possible over South parts of Karnataka including Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

During the next 24 hours, heavy rain with hailstorms is possible in some parts of Maharashtra Madhya Pradesh including Chhattisgarh and Telangana. There are chances of rain in East Rajasthan. From April 9, the weather in these states will start clearing up and the temperature will start rising. On April 12 and 13, many districts of Rajasthan and Gujarat may once again receive thundershowers. East India including Delhi Punjab Haryana and Uttar Pradesh will remain warm and dry.

Light to moderate rains is possible over Chhattisgarh including Assam and Arunachal. The weather in most parts of Rajasthan including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal will remain dry and warm.
