Severe winter continues, and chances of rain in many states

A new Western Disturbance has reached the mountains and due to its effect snowfall will start in the mountains from today. There may be rain in Gangetic West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, and some areas of Jharkhand including Orissa, Telangana and North Coastal Andhra Pradesh. The temperature of many states has fallen during the last 24 hours. Still, from January 27, the temperature of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh will increase by 2 to 3 degrees.

Rain may increase in many states, fog will reduce

There is a possibility of rain in the states of South Eastern Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, North Telangana, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, South Jharkhand etc. Rain activities will now pick up pace in Andaman and Nicobar Islands also. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in some places. Dense fog will prevail in North India for the next two days, after which the intensity of the fog will start reducing and day and night temperatures will increase slightly, which will provide relief from the cold. Snowfall in the mountains may start from January 25.

Temperatures fall again in many states, dense fog and cold waves likely to continue

Yesterday i.e. on January 23, the lowest temperature of this season was recorded in Mumbai at 14.8 degrees. Temperatures also fell in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Temperatures increased in Vidarbha and East Madhya Pradesh. There may be rain over southern Jharkhand including Odisha, Chhattisgarh and eastern parts of Vidarbha. Snowfall will start on the mountains from January 27 which may continue till the first week of February. Rain activities may also increase in South India.

Meteorological Department issued an alert, that cold will haunt for the next 3 to 4 days

People are not expected to get relief from cold and fog for a few more days. According to the recent update of the Indian Meteorological Department, a cold wave warning has been issued in many states of North India which will continue for the next 3 to 4 days. People of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab are facing severe cold and cold waves. The cold wave is expected to continue till January 24 in Madhya Pradesh and Bihar.

Dense fog is present in most areas of North India. Flights from Delhi’s Palam Airport are being cancelled. Temperatures are falling from Punjab to Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Heavy snowfall will soon begin in the mountains. There is a possibility of rain in Orissa, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal and South Jharkhand. Rain activities will now increase slightly over South India also.

There will be rain in many eastern states, a cold wave in North India including Rajasthan

There is a possibility of rain in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Orissa, Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh. The weather in the mountains will remain dry but from January 26, the new Western Disturbance will start giving good snowfall in the mountains which will continue till the first week of February. The wait for snowfall will end soon. Dense fog will continue in the Ganga plains including North India and there will be no respite from the cold as of now.

There are chances of heavy snowfall and severe cold waves next week

Cold winds are coming from the north in North India, due to which the temperature in many districts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra may fall. A new active Western Disturbance will reach the mountains on January 26 due to which good snowfall is likely from January 27. Rain activities may continue in Chhattisgarh and Orissa for the next few days. There will also be rain in Lakshadweep including South Tamil Nadu and South Kerala.

Fog will continue to wreak havoc for a few days, see weather forecast

It has rained in West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. The temperature has dropped in Mumbai and cold waves and cold days are continuing in many states. There will be fog for a few more days. There will be good snowfall in the mountains from January 27. The weather in South India will be almost dry.

There is a possibility of rain at one or two places in Bihar including West Bengal, Orissa, and Jharkhand. There will be light rain in northeastern states also. There has been light snowfall in the mountains but it will stop now. There are chances of heavy snowfall in the mountains till January 26. Dense fog will prevail over North Rajasthan including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and North-Eastern states. North India will not get respite from winter right now. Temperatures will also fall in Maharashtra and Gujarat. The weather in South India will remain clear but there may be very light rain in the south of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Fog and cold wave havoc continues with rain, snowfall

There is a possibility of rain in Eastern India and North Eastern India. Light rain may occur in North Eastern states including West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, and East Madhya Pradesh and moderate rain at one or two places. The current Western Disturbance will give light snowfall on the mountains but there is a possibility of heavy snowfall from January 26. Dense fog may persist from Pakistan to Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Bihar. The weather of South India will generally be dry but light drizzle is possible at one or two places.
