2 lakh solar pumps to be given on subsidy to farmers of MP in next three years

The government is giving a lot of boost to the alternative source of electricity. In this series, Kusum Yojana has been started for the farmers to use solar energy for electricity. Along with this, the state government is also starting schemes related to providing solar pumps on subsidy.

Talking about Madhya Pradesh, a target has been set to give 2 lakh solar pumps to farmers in the coming three years. Significantly, by installing solar pumps, the farmers of the state will get the benefit of better irrigation. Farmers of the state are also being encouraged to install solar pumps. To date, 14 thousand 250 solar pumps have been installed for farmers under the Chief Minister Solar Pump Scheme. In the coming time this number will increase further and 2 lakh solar pumps will be installed.

Basmati rice of Madhya Pradesh will get a GI tag? Farmers will benefit

The Madhya Pradesh government is trying to get the GI tag for Basmati rice grown by about 80,000 farmers in 13 districts of Madhya Pradesh. For this, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has met Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Monday. In this meeting, he has asked the Union Agriculture Minister to cooperate in giving GI tag for basmati rice in the state.

What is a GI tag?
The GI tag is a specific geographical indication indicating the specific geographic origin of any product.

The 13 districts of the state in which Basmati rice is cultivated are Aland, Gwalior, Morena, Sheopur, Datia, Guna, Vidisha, Shivpuri, Raisen, Sehore, Jabalpur, Hoshangabad and Narsinghpur. The Chief Minister said in the meeting held with the Agriculture Minister, that the denial of GI tag to rice in these 13 districts in the districts would be an injustice to the farmers of the state and their livelihood. ”

More locust attacks can take place, FAO asks farmers to stay alert for one month

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has asked the country to be vigilant for the next one month regarding the locust attack. The FAO has issued this warning at a time when the country is facing the biggest attack of locusts in the last 26 years. The government is using modern equipment and technologies such as drones and helicopters to control locusts in such situations.

Significantly, the state of Rajasthan located on the western border has been the most affected by the locust attack. Apart from Rajasthan, states like Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Haryana and Bihar have also been affected. A statement issued by the FAO said that after the monsoon rains, the locust of the Indo-Pakistan border from the northern states to the northern states could again return to Rajasthan.

Heavy monsoon rains have started in Mumbai and Gujarat, while there is a possibility of rain in many states of Central and North India. According to the Meteorological Department, in the coming 24 hours, more than 20 states across the country may receive heavy rains.

In the next 24 hours, torrential rains may continue over Konkan and Goa including Mumbai. If we talk about Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, and West Rajasthan, then the weather will remain dry there.

Presently, the axis of monsoon is passing through Bikaner, Ajmer, Guna, Satna, Daltonganj, and Malda. Apart from this, a cyclonic circulation is also active over eastern Uttar Pradesh. A trough is extending from this system up to Vidarbha via East Madhya Pradesh.

There will be torrential rains in Konkan and Goa including Mumbai in the next 24 hours. Apart from this, light to moderate rains with few heavy to very heavy rain over parts of coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman, and Nicobar Islands, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, northern parts of Bihar, south-western Madhya Pradesh, parts of southeastern Rajasthan might be possible.

July 15 is the last date to get crop insurance, apply this way

Due to natural disasters like unseasonal rains, hail, drought, crops of farmers are often affected. The Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme protects farmers from these losses. The Agriculture Department has released the notification of the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme and the reconstituted Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme. This notification has been issued on Tuesday for the Kharif-2020 and Rabi 2020-21 seasons. Accordingly, the last date to get crop insurance for Kharif -2020 has been kept on July 15.

How to apply?

You can apply for this through the bank and also online. To apply online, go to the link https://pmfby.gov.in/ and fill the form. For this application, a photo and identification card such as PAN card, driving license, voter ID card, or Aadhaar card is required. Apart from this, a document is also required for address proof, for which the farmer has to show the documents related to farming and the Khasra number. For the truth of the crop that has been sown, a letter of pradhan, patwari or sarpanch has to be given. A cancellation check has to be given so that the claim amount comes directly into the account.

Helicopter services are now being sought to control locusts

Locusts team knocked in Madhya Pradesh, Can cause heavy damage to crops

Locust attacks have been taking place in states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh for the last several weeks. In such a situation, several efforts have been made for locust control campaigns in India, due to which locust control is also getting success. In this episode, helicopters are also being used to control the locust team.

The Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar flagged off a Bell helicopter with spray equipment. The helicopter will leave for the Air Force Station at Uttarlai, Barmer, where it will initially be stationed and will control the locust attack in different areas from there.

The helicopter will be operated by a single pilot and has the capacity to carry 250 liters of pesticides at one go. This helicopter will spray pesticides in an area of 25 to 50 hectares at a time.

Earlier, India has also done something to control locusts, which is being praised all over the world. Actually, India has resorted to drones for locust control and has also become the first country in the world to do so.

Farmers of Madhya Pradesh will get huge discount in electricity bill

The farmers have suffered financially due to the nationwide lock-down that began in the last week of March. In view of this, the central government along with different state governments is providing financial assistance to the farmers. In this sequence, the Government of Madhya Pradesh has decided to provide relief to farmers in agriculture as well as domestic electricity bills.

Under this exemption, all such domestic consumers of the state who are beneficiaries of Sambal Yojana and whose monthly bill was up to Rs 100 in April 2020, their next three months i.e. May, June, and July 2020, the amount will come to Rs 100. But in these three months, only 50 rupees per month are being charged from them.
Apart from this, all household users whose bills were up to Rs 100 in the month of April 2020, when the amount of the bills in the next three months i.e. May, June, and July 2020 comes from Rs 100 to Rs 400, then from them only 100 in these three months. An amount of Rs. Per month is being taken.

MP Government preparing to reduce Mandi Fees, Amendment bill may come soon

The Madhya Pradesh government is preparing to reduce the mandi fee. The ordinance issued by the Shivraj government to amend the Mandi Act is about to bring the bill in the monsoon session of the assembly. It will simplify trade in the market. According to sources, the committee headed by Additional Chief Secretary Labor, Dr. Rajesh Rajaura is preparing a blueprint for amendment in the Mandi Act.

It is worth noting that one and a half percent mandi fees are charged per quintal in the transactions done in the mandis. But under the new provisions, the government is preparing to bring, it can be reduced so that more and more farmers bring their produce to the market.

Under Falodyan Yojana, farmers will get Rs. 2.25 lakhs in 3 years

The government is launching Phalodyan Yojana for small marginal farmers. If the farmers join this scheme, they will get a grant of about Rs 2.25 lakh from the government in three years. Under the scheme, the farmer has to plant 4 fruits in one acre. Farmers can also plant it on the ridges of their fields if they wish. The farmer will be provided with 4 hundred fruit plants for an area of 1 acre.

Under this scheme, in the initial year, the farmer will be given 316 days of wages under MGNREGA in lieu of planting and maintaining the garden. 35 thousand rupees grant will be given separately for the material coming under the supervision of the garden, continuously for three years.

Under this scheme, farmers can plant regional fruits including papaya, pomegranate, berries, munga, guava, orange, for which the particular weather of that place is favorable. Priority will be given in the scheme to such farming families, whose head is a woman or a disabled person. Apart from this, BPL card holders, Indira Awas Yojana beneficiaries, SC, ST, and small marginal farmers can be availed of the scheme.

Monsoon effect: 104% increase in cotton sowing with pulses, oilseed crops

Many states across the country received good rains in the pre-monsoon season in June and now the monsoon is also seen to be active in many states. The result of this monsoon effect is that there has been a huge increase of 104.25 percent in the sowing of Kharif crops.

Sowing of oilseeds, cotton, and coarse cereals along with pulses is very high in Kharif crops. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, at present, the sowing of Kharif crops has increased to 315.63 lakh hectare, which reached 154.53 lakh hectare by this time last year.

Paddy has been planted in 37.71 lakh hectare, which was slightly less than 27.93 lakh hectare till this time last year. The sowing of pulses crops has also increased to 19.40 lakh hectare, which was just 6.03 lakh hectare till this time last year. Talk about cotton sowing has also increased to 71.69 lakh hectare, which was only 27.08 lakh hectare till this time last year.
