How to control aphid in bottle gourd crop

  • Aphid is under the category of sucking pests
  • This pest greatly affects the growth of the plant by sucking the cell sap of the bottle gourd’s leaves.
  • The leaves of the affected plant turn yellow and shrink. In the stage of excessive infestation, the leaves dry up and gradually the whole plant dries up.
  • Aphids release a type of honeydew, which causes black fungus infestation.
  • To control this, spray imidacloprid 17.8% SL @ 100 ml/acre or Acephate 75 % SP @ 300 gram/acre or Thiamantoxam 25% WG @ 100 gram/acre.
  • Use Beauveria Bassiana @ 250 gram/acre as a biological treatment.
