Farmers of Madhya Pradesh have sown kharif crops in 118 lakh hectare till now

Monsoon effect: 104% increase in cotton sowing with pulses, oilseed crops

After being at the forefront of the procurement of wheat, now farmers of Madhya Pradesh are now meeting the target set for sowing in the Kharif season as well. The farmers of the state have so far sown Kharif crops in 118 lakh hectares of land. This figure is 80% of the total target set. Soon, the farmers will not only achieve their target up to 100% but will also go ahead of the target. Significantly, this year, a target of sowing 146.31 lakh hectare for the Kharif season.

Sowing of soybean, the main Kharif crop in the state, has been completed up to 97%. The target for the sowing of soybean has been fixed at 57.70 lakh hectare and to date, 56.42 lakh hectare has been sown. Apart from this, the target of crops like groundnut, sesame, cotton has also been almost achieved.

NABARD to provide Rs. 5000 crore loan to farmers for Kharif farming

Different financial institutions keep coming up to provide loans to farmers. In this series, loans will be provided to the farmers of the entire country for the cultivation of Kharif crops by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development. NABARD has sanctioned a large fund of Rs 5000 crores for this loan.

This loan of 5000 thousand crore rupees will be provided to farmers across the country through Cooperative Bank, Grameen Bank, Micro Financing Institution, and NBFC. Significantly, NABARD has recently celebrated its 59th anniversary. Chief General Manager of the institute Subrata Mandal said these things at a function organized on this occasion.

Subrata Mandal said that “the lockdown has been prohibited on a collection of installments from borrowers for six months. This will provide relief to the farmers. In order to ensure that the farmers do not have cash for farming in the Kharif season, NABARD has 5000 thousand crores has been sanctioned. This amount will be disbursed through various financial institutions in the form of loans to farmers across the country.

According to the Meteorological Department, moderate to heavy rain in coastal Karnataka, Kerala and sub-Himalayan West Bengal over the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rain in some areas of Konkan Goa, Uttarakhand, Terai regions of Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and North Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Uttar Pradesh, North Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, South and South-Western Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, South-Eastern Rajasthan, Telangana, Punjab, Haryana and parts of Delhi light to moderate rains may occur.

Water will be delivered to every inch of farmers’ land, CM Shivraj announced

The most important requirement of farmers for improved farming is better irrigation. Keeping this need in mind, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan has said that “we will make effective efforts to provide water to every inch of the land of farmers in the state”.

The Chief Minister said during this time that “special work has been done to increase irrigation potentials in Madhya Pradesh. In the last years, we have increased the irrigation potential in the state from 7.5 lakh hectare to 42 lakh hectare, in which NABARD has a significant contribution.” He said that in the coming time irrigation arrangements will be made for every inch of the land of farmers.

Actually, the Chief Minister said these things through video conferencing in the program organized on the 39th foundation day of NABARD. Members of Women self-help groups of several districts of Madhya Pradesh and representatives of Farmers Producer Association and many farmers were involved in this program.

The Chief Minister said during this time that “it is a matter of great pleasure that lift irrigation of Rs 1425 crore has been approved by NABARD for Madhya Pradesh today. Along with this, a loan of 4 thousand crores has been sanctioned for other projects. I express my heartfelt gratitude to the entire team of NABARD.

Grant will be given in the field of food processing, farmers’ income will increase

The government seems to be cautious about the construction of units associated with food processing and preservation capacity and the modernization of already built units. This is the reason that the government has decided to give 35% of the cost of grants in this area. This grant will be given for construction up to a maximum of 5 crores.

The scheme includes processing of fruits and vegetables, milk, meat/poultry/fish, breakfast cereals/snacks/bakeries, cereals/pulses, oils, etc.

The purpose of this grant is to develop processing and preservation capabilities in the country and in addition to modernizing and expanding the existing food processing units.

From this date, the sixth installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana will start.

The next installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme is coming soon. This installment will start reaching the bank accounts of the farmers after two weeks. Under this scheme, the central government directly deposits 6000 rupees annually in the account of farmers. This amount of Rs 6000 is sent to the farmers’ accounts in three installments. The government is going to put the next installment of this amount in the farmers’ accounts from August 1.

Significantly, the Central Government started the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana on 24 February 2019. However, the scheme came into effect from 1 December 2018.

So far 5 installments of Rs 2000 have been sent to the bank accounts of the farmers under this scheme and the sixth installment of the farmers’ bank accounts will also start reaching from August 1.

Organic farming will be promoted through Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana

Central and state governments are promoting organic farming. Under this, the Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana has been started. Under this scheme, the assistance of 50 thousand rupees per hectare of land is being given for three years. In this help, the farmer can buy organic manure, organic pesticides, and vermicompost, etc. Farmers will get Rs 31000 for this purchase, which will be 61 percent of the total cost.

The Government of India is going to promote organic farming by doubling the allocation for this scheme. The Ministry of Agriculture has sent a proposal to the government to increase the amount allocated for this area to double. If this happens, in the coming years, an allocation of up to Rs 1300 crore will be made annually.

PM Modi added that “During the Corona crisis, farmers of Madhya Pradesh produced a record-breaking crop and the government bought it; soon the farmers of Madhya Pradesh will also break the record of generating electricity.”

Government will give one lakh crore rupees for agricultural infrastructure fund

One lakh crore rupees have been approved for the creation of an agricultural infrastructure fund by the central government.
