Identification and control measures of corn earworm in maize crop

The attack of this pest is more at 25 to 30 °C temperature. The caterpillars of this insect first feed on the silk, and interfere with pollination, after which they reach the corn grain. These caterpillars usually start feeding from the top of the corn. And till the time of its development, the caterpillar damages the corn. Due to which the development of fungus can also occur, sometimes these pests attack the other corn except one corn.

Control measures

  • In the maize crop, put a light trap at the stage of flowering, it attracts the moth towards itself.

  • Install 8 to 10 pheromone traps per acre. Due to this the male adult insects are attracted and they die after getting trapped in the trap

  • For biological control, spray Brigade B @ 1 kg + Silicomaxx @ 50 ml per acre, 150 to 200 liters of water.

Government is giving compensation for crop loss due to heavy rains, know the whole process

Due to heavy rains, the Kharif crops of the farmers have suffered a lot. In such a situation, the Haryana government has taken a special step to help the farmers of the state financially. According to this, the government will give compensation to the farmers for the loss in the crop. Due to this, Girdawari has been started by the government on August 5 in the entire state for the assessment of crop loss due to water logging, so that the crop loss due to rain can be compensated at the earliest.

Apart from this, if the girdawari of the farmer’s field is not done correctly, then he can file the report of his farm through the portal. For this, he has to go to the ‘Meri Fasal-Mera Byora Portal’. Where he has to upload a photo of crop loss on the compensation option. After this, the Patwari of the concerned area will come again to do the girdawari. In this way, any farmer in the state can get compensation for crop loss caused by rain. So without wasting time take advantage of this beneficial scheme of the government.
