Among the pulse crops, gram is an important crop. In order to increase the production capacity of the crop, all the activities from seed selection to harvesting are included.

Seed treatment

• Before sowing the Chickpea, treat the seed with Sprint (Carbendazim 25%+ Mancozeb 50% WS) @ 3 gm/kg seed wise. This can save the crop from root rot, collar rot.

• Then do seed treatment with B seepel RP (Rhizobium and phosphate solubilizing bacteria) @ 2.5 gm/kg. Use B seepel RP only at the time of sowing. By treating the seeds with this, nodules are formed in the root of the plant, which helps in the fixation of nitrogen from the environment.

Nutrient Management

DAP @ 40 kg + Potassium @ 30 kg + Mobomin (Molybdenum 4%, Manganese 5%, Boron 2%, Zinc 6%, Fe 5%, Copper 2%, Sulphur 5%, Potassium1%) @ 500 gm + Gram New Samriddhi Kit (Pro Combimaxx – 1 kg, Combat – 2 kg, Tricoat Maxx – 4 kg, Jaiv-Vatika Rhizobium – 1 kg) @ 8 Kg Mix all these together, broadcast them evenly, on an acre basis.

Irrigation

One irrigation is given after 40 to 45 days of sowing and the other after 60 to 65 days. Be sure to Nipping gram in the area with deep black soil.

Insect control

For the control of caterpillars, apply T shape @ 15 feet per acre. And to control caterpillars, spray Emanova (Emamectin Benzoate 05% SG) @ 88 gm per acre, @ 150 to 200 liters of water.
