Sea storm Fengal has formed but this storm will not be able to last for long. By the afternoon of 29 November, it will weaken again and become a deep depression. It will hit the northern coast of Tamil Nadu on the morning of 30 November as a deep depression. There is a possibility of heavy rain in southern Andhra Pradesh including the northern districts of Tamil Nadu. A new Western Disturbance is coming over the mountains which will bring rain and snowfall in the mountains during the next two days. Cold winds will start blowing from the north direction from December 2, due to which the temperature will fall in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, which will increase the cold.

Nutrient management is necessary after 40 days of transplanting in onion crop

For good root development and healthy growth of plants at this stage in onion crop, apply Urea 30 kg + Calcium Nitrate 10 kg + Magnesium Sulphate 10 kg together and broadcast them evenly on a one-acre basis.

Urea

Urea is the biggest source of nitrogen supply in onion crops. With its use, there is no problem with yellowing and drying in the leaves. Urea accelerates the process of photosynthesis.

Calcium nitrate

Calcium nitrate increases the size of onion bulbs and gives a better quality yield. It also fulfils the deficiency of calcium in plants.

Magnesium sulfate

Magnesium Sulphate- The use of magnesium in the onion crop increases greenery and accelerates the process of photosynthesis, ultimately leading to higher yields and crop quality. Also sulphur helps in enhancing the smell.

The fourth cyclone of this year and the second post-monsoon Cyclone Fengal is forming in the Bay of Bengal. Heavy rains are falling on the eastern coast of Sri Lanka, while heavy rains are continuing in the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu. This storm will move forward along the coast of Tamil Nadu and by reaching near Chennai, it will weaken and become a deep depression again by November 30. On November 29, a new Western Disturbance will come over the mountains, which will bring snowfall in the mountains. The weather of the rest of India will remain dry. On November 29 and 30, light rain may also occur on the coasts of Odisha including Andhra Pradesh.

Every year, during Kharif and Rabi seasons, long queues of farmers at fertilizer distribution centers become a common sight. Despite government efforts, chaos and shortages often disrupt the process. To address this recurring issue, the Madhya Pradesh government is revamping its fertilizer distribution system for the upcoming year.

The new plan involves establishing additional distribution centers in areas where more than 500 farmers are registered. This initiative aims to ensure that fertilizers reach all farmers efficiently, eliminating disorder and shortages. The state government is also seeking financial assistance from the central government to implement this plan effectively.

According to Agriculture Department officials, these additional centers will significantly streamline the distribution process, making it more accessible and hassle-free for farmers.

Thrips: Both the young and adults of this insect suck the sap by scraping the leaves of the onion. Damaged leaves appear bright white, which later become twisted. and dries up. It is also called Jalebi disease.

Purple blotch: Symptoms of this disease first appear as small, water-soaked lesions, which develop white centres. As they age, the lesions turn brown to purple, surrounded by a yellowish area. Sometimes, the bulbs also get infected.

Control measures: For control of this pest, Spray LOC – 5 (Lambda-Cyhalothrin 05% EC) @ 120 ml or Jump (Fipronil 80% WG) @ 30 gm + Silicomaxx Gold @ 50 ml + Score (Difenoconazole 25% EC) @ 150-200 ml or Novacrust (Azoxystrobin 11% + Tebuconazole 18.3% SC) @ 300 ml per acre, @ 150 to 200 Ltr of water.

A depression has formed in the Bay of Bengal, which will soon become a deep depression and move towards the coast of Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka. Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu, while heavy rains may also occur at some places on the coast of Andhra Pradesh. Light to moderate rains are expected in Lakshadweep including Kerala and southern interior Karnataka. The weather of the rest of India will remain almost dry. Temperatures will drop due to northwest winds in northwest, north, central and eastern India.
