Broad leaf weeds will cause 25 to 35% loss in wheat yield

  • Weeds are one of the biggest problems in the wheat crop. Due to weeds, a 25 to 35% reduction in crop production has been observed. Because, of the nutrients which are given to the crops, those nutrients are absorbed by the weeds. Due to this, the main crop becomes weak. 

  • There are mainly two types of weeds in wheat, such as the narrow-leaved weeds Motha, Kans, wild oats, Phalaris etc. and the broad-leaved weeds such as Bathua, Senji, Kasni, Wild Spinach, Krishna Neel, Hirankhuri etc.

  • Spray weedicide within 30 to 40 days after sowing when the weeds are in the stage of 2 to 5 leaves. There should be sufficient moisture in the field at the time of spraying. Use a flat fan or flood jet nozzle. Spray 10 to 12 tanks per acre.

  • For broadleaf weed control, spray Novamine 58 (2,4-D dimethyl amine salt 58% SL) @ 300-500 ml or Convo (Metsulfuron-Methyl 20 % WP) @ 8 gm, per acre @ 200 litres of water.

There is a possibility of heavy rain on the eastern coast of the country during the next two days. Heavy rains may occur on the coast of northern Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. There may be light snowfall on the mountains. For now, the weather of central and eastern India including North India will remain clear. Rain may start in some parts of Madhya Pradesh around 25 and 26 December. There will be snowfall on the mountains on 27 and 28 December and there is a possibility of rain from Punjab to Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is no less than a boon for farmers across the country. With the help of this scheme, the farmer receives financial assistance of Rs 6000 every year from the government in the form of three installments of Rs 2000. So far 18 installments have been issued to the farmers under this scheme. If you are also a farmer and want to get the benefit of the 19th installment of PM Kisan Yojana, then for this it will be mandatory for you to get eKYC done.

Let us tell you that in the eKYC process, the Aadhar card of the farmers eligible for the scheme is linked to the scheme. After completing this process, whenever the amount received under the scheme is released by the government, then it will come directly to the bank account of the farmers.

Know the complete e-KYC process of PM Kisan Yojana

First of all, go to the official website of PM Kisan Yojana www.pmkisan.gov.in and go to ‘Farmers Corner’ and select the ‘E-KYC’ option. Enter your Aadhaar number here. After this, enter the OTP received on the mobile and complete the process.

How to control leaf blight disease in Wheat

  • This disease is mainly caused by the fungus Bipolaris sorokiniana. The symptoms of this disease are found in all parts of the plant and its effect is more visible on the leaves. 

  • Initially, the symptoms of the disease appear in the form of small brown boat-shaped spots, which enlarge and spread all over the leaves.

  • The plant tissue dies and the green colour begins to dissipate, giving the plant a scorched appearance.

  • Due to this, the process of photosynthesis in the plant is severely affected, the seeds of the affected plant have less germination capacity.

  • The temperature of 25 °C and high relative humidity are favourable for this disease.

  • For chemical treatment spray Thiophanate Methyl 70% W/P @ 300 gm or Carbendazim 12% + Mancozeb 63% WP @ 300 gm or Hexaconazole 5% SC @ 400 ml or Tebuconazole 10% + Sulfur 65% WG @ 500 gm or Chlorothalonil 75% WP @ 400 gm or Kasugamycin 5% + Copper Oxychloride 45% WP @ 300 gm/acre.

  • As a biological treatment spray Trichoderma viride @ 500 gm/acre or Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 250 gm/acre.

Due to this, the direction of winds has changed in North India and fog is prevailing due to low wind speed. Delhi’s pollution has reached the dangerous category. After 2 days, winds will blow from the northwest direction, due to which cold will increase and fog will be cleared. The low pressure area is now near Tamil Nadu, due to its effect, there is a possibility of heavy rain in many districts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
