Government will help in keeping crops safe from pests, will get huge subsidy

subsidy on light traps

If there is an infestation of pests in crops and it is not prevented, the crop gets ruined and the farmer suffers huge losses. That is why proper medicine must be used on time so that the crop remains healthy and a good yield is obtained. However, sometimes instead of pesticides, farmers keep their crops safe by applying light traps, pheromone traps, sticky traps, and life traps. This method does not allow harmful effects of chemicals on the crop and the crop also remains safe. The government also gives a good subsidy on these traps so that farmers use them as much as possible.

Under this scheme run by the Bihar government, farmers can get a 75% subsidy on light traps. If you are also a farmer in Bihar, then definitely take advantage of this scheme. Through the scheme, a farmer will be given the benefit of a subsidy for one acre of land only. Whereas for Tall areas this figure is a maximum of 3 acres for a farmer. To avail of the benefits of the scheme, visit the official website of the Agriculture Department of Bihar, dbtagriculture.bihar.gov.in and complete the application process.

Gummy stem blight symptoms and control in watermelon crop

Gummy stem blight symptoms and control in watermelon crop

Gummy stem blight is one of the serious foliar diseases in watermelon crops. In this disease, brown spots appear on the stems and leaves and these spots are surrounded by yellow tissues. After that, this lesion on the stem enlarges and forms a rotting which secretes a sticky, brown liquid. Fruit is rarely affected by this disease, but a loss of foliage can also affect yield and fruit quality.

Control: To avoid gummy stem blight, use disease-free seeds, as well as crop rotation of 2 years in all cucurbits crops. Also, on the appearance of disease symptoms, for chemical control, spray contact fungicide like Jatayu (Chlorothalonil 75% WP) @ 200 gm/acre or M45 (Mancozeb 75% WP) @ 600-800 gm/acre @ 150 to 200 litres of water.
