Weed control measures in soybean crop

  • Pre-emergence (after sowing and before seed germination) Spray weedicide within 3-5 days of sowing with Imazethapyr 2% + Pendimethalin 30% EC (Wilforce – 32) @ 1 ltr/acre at 200 ltr water. And use a flat fan nozzle. There is an effective control of weeds with broad and narrow leaves.

  • Spraying of Diclosulam: 84%WDG (Mark/Strongarm) @ 12.4 gm/acre at the rate of 200 ltr of water within 3-5 days of sowing. And use a flat fan nozzle.

Advantages of soybean weed control

Eliminating soybean weeds can increase production by about 25 to 70 percent.

Out of the available nutrients in the soil, 30 to 60 kg of nitrogen, 8-10 kg of phosphorus and 40-100 kg of potash per hectare increase.

Apart from this, the growth of crops is faster and the level of production increases.

And the outbreak of germs of insects and diseases is less.

Mulching Method and its Benefits

To protect the crop planted in the field, a layer of grass or plastic is spread around the plant. There are two types of mulch, organic and plastic mulch.

  • Plastic mulching method: – When in the field, the land of planted plants is well covered by plastic sheets from all sides, then this method is called plastic mulching. In this way the plants are protected and crop production also increases. Let us tell you that this sheet is available in many types and many colors.

  • Organic Mulching Method: – In organic mulching, straw, leaves, etc. are used. It is also called natural mulching. It is very affordable. It is often used in zero budget farming as well. Do not burn the stubble but use it in mulching. By the use of mulching, you will get rid of the problem of stubble and the yield will also be higher.

Benefits: Helps in soil moisture conservation and temperature control, reducing soil erosion by wind and water, providing a favorable environment for plant growth, improving productivity, improving soil fertility and health, and preventing the growth of weeds.

PM Kisan e-KYC last date extended, know the whole process

More than half of the country’s population is dependent on agriculture. In such a situation, the government is running many schemes to make these farmers financially capable. One of these is ‘PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana’. Through this, an amount of 6 thousand rupees is sent directly to the account of farmers annually.

Every year three installments of Rs 2,000 are sent to the farmers’ accounts at an interval of every four months. According to the data, about 10 crore farmer families in the country are taking advantage of this scheme. However, now the government has made it mandatory to do e-KYC to take advantage of the scheme.

But even after giving the deadline, many farmers have not been able to get e-KYC done. In such a situation, giving relief, the government has extended its last date from 31 May to 31 July. However, if the e-KYC is not done before the deadline, the farmer brothers may be deprived of the next installment.

E-KYC process

For e-KYC visit the website of PM Kisan Yojana at pmkisan.gov.in. Here on the right side click on the e-KYC tab under the farmer’s corner. After this, a new page will open, enter your Aadhaar number here and click on the Search tab. Now OTP will come on the mobile number registered in your Aadhaar, which you have to submit. In this way, the process of e-KYC will be completed.

Importance of Drip Irrigation

  • With the help of drip irrigation system technology, 60 to 70 percent water is saved in the cotton crop.

  • This method has shown an increase in the yield of crops to a great extent. Drip irrigation is the most efficient water and nutrient delivery system for growing crops.

  • It delivers water and nutrients directly to the root zone of the plant, in the right amount, at the right time, so each plant gets exactly what it needs, so it can grow optimally.

  • Drip irrigation saves water, electricity, labor and cost and reduces the amount of fertilizer required. Along with this, weeds can also be controlled, by using this the level of humidity also remains favorable.
