Finance Minister Jagdish Deora presented the budget of FY 2021-22 in Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Tuesday 2 March. In this, an amount of Rs 35 thousand 353 crore has been earmarked for agriculture and other related areas.

What was special about the budget for the agriculture sector?

  • Announcement of starting the Chief Minister’s Crop Acquisition Assistance Scheme for the purchase of food grains.
  • 4 thousand rupees will be given to the farmers annually under the Chief Minister Kisan Kalyan Yojana.
  • Declaration of provision of interest free crop loan.
  • The project will start for the development of about 75 thousand hectares of land with shallow and medium pits.
  • Fruitful trees and medicinal plants will be promoted.
  • It will now be mandatory to place holograms on the packing of certified seeds.
  • Food processing units will be promoted under the “One District One Product” campaign.

Temperatures are steadily increasing in most areas of South Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh. Temperatures in these areas have reached 38–39 degrees. In the coming days, there is no chance of getting relief from the heat.

Apart from this, there is a possibility of snow with strong rains in the coming two days from Jammu Kashmir to Uttarakhand. Also, along with Delhi, there will be frost in the night in North India but there will be strong sunshine during the day.

  • For the control of thrips it is necessary to switch chemicals after every use.
  • Management: – For prevention of thrips use Fipronil 5% SC @ 400 ml/acre or Lambda Cyhalothrin 4.9% CS @ 200 ml/acre or Fipronil 40% +Imidacloprid 40% WG @ 40 gram/acre or Thiamethoxam 12.6% + Lambda Cyhalothrin 9.5% ZC@ 80 ml / acre or Spinosid 45% SC @ 75 ml/acre.
  • Biological treatment: – As a biological treatment, spray Beauveria Bassiana @ 250gram/acre.
