Get a grant of Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand for the cultivation of dragon fruit

Liked in countries like Thailand, Vietnam and Israel, dragon fruit is being liked a lot in India these days. The cost of this fruit in the Indian market is 200 to 250 rupees. For this reason, dragon fruit is also very much in vogue from the point of view of agriculture. In this episode, the Haryana government is running a special scheme to provide more benefits to the farmers of the state in agriculture.

Under this scheme, the state government is encouraging farmers to take up the cultivation of crops like horticulture and spices etc. apart from traditional farming. For its cultivation, farmers are being given grants by the government in the form of financial help. Under this, there is a provision of a grant of 1 lakh 20 thousand rupees per acre for a dragon fruit orchard. With the help of this scheme, a farmer can avail of the facility of grants up to a maximum of 10 acres.

To get the grant through the scheme, the applicant is required to register on the ‘Meri Fasal-Mera Byora’ portal. For this, farmers should apply by visiting the website of the Horticulture Department http://hortnet.gov.in. However, the benefit of the scheme will be available on a ‘first come first serve’ basis.
