Premature monsoon knock in many states, see weather forecast

Premature monsoon has reached the North-Eastern states as well as the northern districts of West Bengal. Monsoon will remain active over Sikkim and Northeast India including northern districts of West Bengal and there is a possibility of good rains. Monsoon rains will remain weak over South India. Heavy rain may occur at one or two places. Heat wave conditions will continue over Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and interior parts of Orissa.

Monsoon started off weak, 40% less rainfall so far

Monsoon rains across India were 40% less in the first 2 days due to a weak onset of monsoon. Monsoon will remain normal or weak over South India for the next 1 week, although the monsoon will reach the northeastern states soon and will give heavy rains. Heatwave is likely to prevail in some parts of Southwest Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Vidarbha including southern parts of Delhi, and Haryana, the weather will remain dry and hot in these areas.

The possibility of further advance of monsoon is becoming stronger. It is very likely to reach South Andhra Pradesh and Northeast states including some more parts of Karnataka in the next few days. Rain activities will continue over South Peninsula but heavy rain is possible over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Heavy rain activities will start in the northeastern states as well. Scattered rain over East India and Northwest India will remain hot and dry.

No good rain is expected over Kerala Tamil Nadu Karnataka Andhra Pradesh Telangana and Maharashtra for the next 1 week. Rain activities will start increasing in the northeastern states after 2 days and from June 2, there may be torrential rains in many places. The weather over Northwest and Central India is likely to remain dry and hot.

Monsoon knock in Kerala, monsoon will be weak in the beginning

Monsoon has reached Kerala 3 days ahead of time. Now Kerala, Tamil Nadu and South Karnataka may receive light to moderate rain with heavy rain at one or two places.
