Widespread Heavy Rain Forecasted Across Country

Some regions in India may experience heavy rainfall. These areas include Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, and East Rajasthan. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh are expected to have an increase in rain activities. However, West and South Rajasthan, as well as Gujarat, may experience a relief from heavy rains. On July 29, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and East Uttar Pradesh may also experience increased rain activities. A new low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal may cause heavy rains in South Odisha, Telangana, Vidarbha, and Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, heavy rains are possible from Mumbai to Goa, and along and off the Karnataka coast.

There is a possibility of heavy rains over the south coast of Andhra Pradesh along with the north coast of Tamil Nadu. Chennai may also see good rains. The weather in the eastern states of the country will still remain almost dry and Monsoon is likely to remain weak for the time being.

For the next 3 days, the weather of the Gangetic plains will remain almost dry. Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh including Delhi, Punjab and Haryana would see a considerable reduction in rain activities. There will be moderate rain over the mountains but rains may increase over Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh from July 22.

A new cyclonic circulation is forming in the northwest Bay of Bengal. There is also a cyclonic circulation over Gujarat. Under the influence of all these weather systems, heavy rains may occur over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, North Madhya Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of torrential rain once again in the mountains. There may be heavy rains along the coast of Maharashtra and Karnataka including Mumbai. Rains will remain scanty over Bihar, Jharkhand, East Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
