Online payment of Rs 2990 crore to 1493171 farmers under crop insurance

The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan will make online payment of Rs 2990 crore under crop insurance to 14 lakh 93 thousand 171 farmers of the state at 3 pm today.

On this issue, the Minister of Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development, Mr. Kamal Patel said that “One lakh 930 crore rupees are being provided to 8 lakh 33 thousand 171 farmers as insurance for Kharif crop. Similarly, 6 lakh 60 Thousand farmers will be paid one thousand 60 crores as insurance amount for the Rabi crop. ”

Minister Shri Patel further informed that as soon as the new government was formed in the state, an amount of Rs 2200 crore was paid to the insurance companies for the premium under crop insurance. Now the result of this is that the amount of crop insurance is being paid online to the farmers.

How to protect Black gram and Green gram crops from powdery mildew disease

The white powder appears on the leaves and other green parts, which later become light-colored white spots. These spots gradually increase in size and become spherical, covering the lower surface as well.
In severe infection, the foliage turns yellow causing premature leaf loss.
Disease infected plants undergo early maturation resulting in heavy yield loss.
When the initial disease appears, spray twice a day with NSKE or neem oil 75 ml per 15 liters of water.
Spray Hexaconazole 5% SC 400 ml or Thiophanate methyl 70% WP or Azoxystrobin 23 SC 200 ml per acre in 200 water at an interval of fifteen days.

How to manage Pyrilla pest in sugarcane crop?

Make a pit of 5 X 5 feet and 4 inches deep in a sugarcane field and put polythene in it.
Fill this pot with water and add half a liter of kerosene or 10-15 ml of malathion.
Hang a light blob just above the pit. Pyrillas and other insects will be attracted by light traps and will fall into the pit and die.
Keep the light on (Blub) from 8 to 10 pm, after which the activity of these pests decreases.
It can also be controlled by spraying 80 g imidacloprid 17.8 SL or 80 ml thiamethoxam mixed with 200 liters of water at the rate of 25 WG per acre.
The parasites of the perilla insect lay 4-5 lakh eggs of Epirnicia melonoleuca on the infested crop. In the sufficient presence of this parasitic insect, the perilla insect is self-contained.

Except for the few districts (Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain) of Madhya Pradesh, wheat procurement is going on from April 15 in all the districts on support price, but mustard crops are yet to be purchased on support price. The speed of wheat procurement is also very slow at the procurement centers. The reason for this slow pace is the social distancing being adopted due to corona infection. Due to this social distancing, only 20 farmers can visit the procurement centers. In such a situation, farmers are being forced to sell their produce in the market at a quarter to one price.

Due to the slow pace of procurement at the procurement centers at the support price, farmers have to sell their mustard and wheat produce at low prices. Due to this, farmers are losing 2 to 250 rupees on wheat and about 500 rupees on mustard. However, it is expected that when the lockdown period ends on May 3, there is a possibility of a rise in the mandis of low-corona infected areas of Madhya Pradesh.

Copper

Sales of fertilizers reached at record levels even during lockdown period

Traffic is prohibited during the nationwide lockdown because of the Corona infection. Despite this, a lot of work is going on in the agricultural sector during this period. This is what we see by looking at the figures for fertilizer sales at record levels during the lockdown period.

During the lockdown between April 1 and April 22, 2020, farmers have purchased 10.63 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizer. If we compare this figure with the fertilizer sales data for the same period last year, then there is a big difference. This year fertilizer sales have increased by 32% as compared to 8.02 lakh metric tonnes in the same period last year.

The Government of India has granted permission for the operation of fertilizer plants in the country under the Essential Commodities Act, even during lockdown so that the lockdown does not have any ill effects on the agricultural sector.
