Both nymphs and adults of this insect suck the sap from the underside of the leaves. Affected leaves turn yellow at the edges, turning upwards. This pest does not cause any direct damage to the brinjal crop but acts as a carrier of the little leaf of brinjal. Flowers and fruits do not develop in the crops affected by this disease. And also transfer mosaic virus disease.

Control measures of Jassid

To control these, Spray Solomon (Beta-Cyfluthrin 08.49% + Imidacloprid 19.81% w/w OD) @ 80 ml or Superkiller 25 (Cypermethrin 25% EC) @ 80 ml + Novamaxx @ 300 ml + Silicomaxx gold @ 50 ml per acre in 150-200 litres of water.

Field Preparation and Nutrient Management for Transplanting of Rabi Onion crops

Land preparation

For good growth and root development of plants, it is necessary to have friable soil. After harvesting the previous crop, ploughing should be done with a soil turning plough and after that, FYM at the rate of 4 tonnes + Speed kompost @ 4 kg per acre should be applied evenly in the field. and apply 2-3 ploughing with the help of a harrow. Remove the other unwanted material present in the field, if the soil moisture is less then first irrigate, then prepare the field, and lastly make the field level by rolling the levelar.

Nutrient Management

At the time of transplanting or within 15 days after transplanting, Urea – 25 kg + SSP – 60 kg + DAP – 25 kg + MOP – 40 kg + Onion New Samridhi Kit – TB 3 (NPK consortia) @ 3 kg + Taba G ( Zinc Solubilizing Bacteria) @ 4 Kg + Tri-coat Max (Seaweed, Amino, Humic) @ 4 Kg + Rhizocere @ 500 G, @ 11.5 Kg, Mix all these together, broadcast them evenly, on per acre basis.
