The contribution of women in the agriculture sector is not publicized much, although women have always contributed to farming activities. Many types of schemes are being run by the government to fulfill the objective of women getting recognition in the agriculture sector, making them empowered and self-reliant. One of these schemes is ‘Drone Didi Yojana’ through which women will be given agricultural drones on subsidy and training will also be given to operate drones.
Let us tell you that under the ‘Drone Didi Yojana’ run by the Government of India, about 3000 women associated with self-help groups will be provided subsidy up to Rs 10 lakh on purchasing drones. Apart from this, under this scheme, free training will also be given to fly drones by the Agriculture Department or Krishi Vigyan Kendra so that women can fly drones easily.
Both subsidy and loan can be availed through this scheme. It is worth noting that up to 80% of the total cost of the drone (8 lakh rupees) will be provided as subsidy, while for the remaining amount, women can take a loan from the AIF scheme at an interest rate of 3%.
Women farmers of Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka will get the benefit of this scheme. To avail the benefits of the scheme, women can contact any of their nearest agriculture department offices or KVK.
