Government is providing subsidies and loan facilities for goat rearing

Government is providing subsidies and loan facilities for goat rearing

The more sources of income there are for farmers, the more their income can be increased. One of these sources of increasing income is goat rearing, a practice widely adopted by Indian farmers. This endeavor is strongly supported by the government, which offers subsidies and facilitates access to loans.

For goat rearing, significant land or capital is not required, making it accessible to farmers in both rural and urban areas. If you’re interested in goat rearing but facing financial constraints, there’s good news.

The central government provides subsidies of up to 35% for goat rearing. Additionally, many state governments, like Haryana, offer substantial subsidies, with Haryana providing an impressive subsidy of about 90%. Furthermore, financial assistance for goat rearing is available through loan facilities provided by NABARD.

Now farmers will be able to buy wheat directly from NAFED and NCCF

Now farmers will be able to buy wheat directly from NAFED and NCCF

The government has taken a big decision to fulfil the objective of keeping inflation under control in the country and at the same time increasing the income of farmers. The government has now instructed the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation (NAFED) and the National Cooperative Consumers Federation of India (NCCF) to purchase wheat directly from farmers. This decision of the government, along with increasing the income of the farmers, it will also help in controlling inflation.

It is noteworthy that NAFED and NCCF are two agencies which manage the sales process of Bharat Atta. Both these agencies also sell Bharat Chana Dal and Bharat Rice. Let us tell you that in the last months, when inflation increased, the government launched Bharat Atta, Bharat Gram and Bharat Rice in the open market, the prices of which were kept very low.

According to news from the famous media organization ‘Economic Times’, both these agencies will purchase wheat from farmers at a Minimum Support Price (MSP). There is no limit on purchasing for these agencies. This means that the agency can purchase as much as it wants.

Cultivate bamboo on government subsidy, keep earning profits for many years

Cultivate bamboo on government subsidy

Nowadays, farmers are earning good profits by cultivating non-traditional crops instead of traditional ones. Bamboo farming is one such unconventional practice that provides substantial profits to farmers. Bamboo is often referred to as “green gold” due to its consistent demand in the market. Moreover, the government offers subsidies for its cultivation.

Planting bamboo is relatively simple. Start by obtaining bamboo plants from a nursery and then transplant them. When transplanting, ensure that the pit is 2 feet deep and 2 feet wide. Soil preparation is not necessary, but avoid sandy soil. After transplantation, use cow dung manure and water the plants daily for a month.

Bamboo plants can thrive even on barren land with minimal cultivation expenses. They typically begin growing three months after planting and are fully matured within four years. The government actively promotes bamboo cultivation, evident from initiatives like the Bamboo Mission launched in 2006. Currently, farmers can avail subsidies of up to 50% for bamboo cultivation. To apply for this government subsidy scheme, visit the website of the National Bamboo Mission at nbm.nic.in.
