Symptoms and control measures of Alternaria leaf spot disease in Cabbage crop

Alternaria leaf spot is a common foliar disease of brassicaceae family’s crops “cabbage, cauliflower, brussels sprouts and broccoli ” etc. Symptoms of this disease are usually first seen on older, lower leaves. Due to this, small, dark colored spots appear on the stem and leaves of the crops, which together form circular lesions. The lesions are visible from both sides of the leaf and the necrotic lesions burst easily. Apart from the leaves, symptoms also appear on the flowers of cauliflower and broccoli.

Control measures

  • For biological control, take a spray of Monas-curb @ 500 gm + Combat @ 500 gm + Silicomaxx @ 50 ml per acre @ 150 to 200 Ltr of water.

  • For control of this disease, spray Buonus @ 240 ml + Silicomaxx @ 50 ml per acre @ 150 to 200 liters of water.
