Land Preparation for potato farming

Potato is the main cash crop of the Rabi season.
According to the type of soil, 3-4 plows should be done in the field. Generally the first ploughing is done with soil turning plough. Second and third ploughing should be done with indigenous plough or harrows. If there is delay in cultivation, after each ploughing, make the soil friable by using a leveler. And by leveling the field, it facilitates the development of potato tubers.
Maintain sufficient moisture in the soil before sowing. For planting, two methods are widely used, 1) Ridge and Furrow Method 2) Flat Bed Method.
The spacing of tubers when sowing depends on the size of the tubers. If the diameter of the tubers is 2.5-3.5 cm, then the tubers should be planted at a distance of 60 x 15 cm. As the diameter of the tuber is 5-6 cm, it should be planted at a distance of 60 x 40 cm.
Dig a 6-8 inch deep pit in the prepared fields and plant a piece of potato facing upwards.

Treat with Combat (Trichoderma Viridi 1.0% WP) @ 5 gm or Monas Curb (Pseudomonas florenses 1.0% WP) @ @ 5 gm/kg seed.

Chemical seed treatment

Sprint (Carbendazim 25% + Mancozeb 50% WS) @ 6-7 grams or Emesto Prime (Penflufen 240 FS) @ 10 ml, per 10 kg seed must be treated with This can save the crop from late blight, black scurf diseasea.

Increase income from Murrah buffalo farming, know its specialty

Along with agriculture, animal husbandry is also a good source of income for the farmers. Central and state governments are making many efforts at their respective levels to enable farmers to increase their income through animal husbandry. In this episode, to promote animal husbandry and milk production, the Madhya Pradesh government has started the Dairy Plus scheme. Through this scheme, two Murrah buffaloes are being provided to the farmers on subsidy.

Grant amount on two Murrah buffaloes

According to the government, the price of these two buffaloes has been fixed at Rs 2 lakh 50 thousand. Where under the scheme, farmers belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes will get 75% subsidy on the purchase of these buffaloes, according to this they will have to pay only Rs 62 thousand 500. At the same time, a 50% subsidy will be given to backward class and general category farmers, under which farmers of this class will have to pay one lakh 50 thousand rupees on the purchase of Murrah buffalo.

Characteristics of Murrah Buffaloes

Buffaloes of this breed are known for giving more milk. This buffalo can give up to 20 liters of milk per day, which is twice as much as other breeds of buffaloes. The weight of the buffalo of this breed is very high. This buffalo is mostly reared in areas like Haryana and Punjab.

The objective of this scheme is to increase the income of farmers manifold through animal husbandry. This scheme has been started by the state government in three districts of the state, Sehore, Vidisha, and Raisen.

Mustard cultivation requires cool and dry weather. Mustard can be sown till October, in Rabi season.

Land preparation

For good germination and growth of plants, it is necessary to have friable soil. After harvesting the previous crop, ploughing should be done with a soil turning plough and after that, FYM at the rate of 4 tonnes + Speed kompost @ 4 kg per acre should be applied evenly in the field. and do 2-3 ploughing with the help of a harrow. Remove the other unwanted material present in the field, if the soil moisture is less then first irrigate, then prepare the field, and lastly make the field level by rolling the levelar.

Nutrient Management

At the time of sowing or within 15 days after sowing, apply TB3 (Nitrogen Fixing, Phosphate solubilizing and Potassium mobilizing biofertilizer consortia) @ 3 kg + Tri-Coat Maxx ( A mixture of Organic Carbon 3%, Humic, Fulvic, Organic Nutrients) @ 4 kg + Combat (Trichoderma viride 1.0 WP) @ 1 kg + DAP @ 40 kg + Urea @ 30 kg + Potash @ 30 kg, per acre in the field evenly.

After this sow the seed, for one acre area, 2 to 3 kg seed is sufficient. The crop should be sown in rows. For this, keep row to row distance of 30 cm and plant to plant distance of 10 cm. The depth of sowing seeds should not exceed 3 cm.
