Madhya Pradesh government has started the ‘Indira Grah Jyoti Yojana’ to rid people of huge electricity bills. Under this scheme, people will be given subsidies on electricity bills as financial help. At the same time, the benefit of this scheme will be given to all the poor people of the state. Apart from this, those whose monthly income is less than 10 thousand will also be able to take advantage of this scheme.

Under this scheme, consumers will have to pay electricity bills at the rate of Re 1 unit only. The government itself will bear the rest of the electricity cost. If seen, consumers will have to pay a maximum of Rs 100 for electricity consumption. According to the information, 34 lakh beneficiaries of the state are taking advantage of this subsidy since last month. Along with this, a subsidy of Rs 300 to 512 is being given to every consumer under Indira Gandhi Grah Yojana in the state.

Under this scheme, up to 60% subsidy will be given by the government to the farmers for setting up solar pumps. The remaining 40% amount will have to be given to the farmers themselves.
