Apart from small insects and deadly diseases, crops are also at great risk from stray animals. Farmers get fencing done around their fields to protect their crops from wild animals, Nilgai and other stray animals. However, fencing is an expensive task, that is why most farmers are not able to get it done in their fields. To overcome this problem of farmers, the government has started the fencing scheme.
According to the news in the media, through this fencing scheme being run by the Rajasthan government, farmers are getting subsidy on getting their fields fenced. Under the scheme, small and marginal farmers are being given a subsidy of up to 60% on 400 running meters. Under this, a maximum amount of up to Rs 40,000 will be given to eligible farmers. Apart from this, through this scheme, as a community application, the facility of fencing is made available to a group of 10 or more farmers in at least 5 hectares of land. For this, they are given 70% of the unit cost as subsidy. For more information about the scheme or to apply, visit Raj Kisan Sathi Portal.
