Symptoms and prevention of magnesium deficiency in maize crop

Magnesium is an essential nutrient. The symptoms of magnesium deficiency in maize plants are observed in leaves which are red and purple in color and appear as a streak.

It often occurs after a long stay in cold and wet and very acidic or sandy soils. Magnesium contributes to healthy plant growth early in the season and improves yield. It can also help in the maturation process of the plant.

After 15 to 20 days of sowing the crops, should be mixed  Magnesium Sulphate @ 5 kg + Urea @ 35 kg per acre.
