Due to the dryness of land in many areas, farmers are not able to do farming on it. But now due to a special initiative of the government, farmers can earn good income from these lands. For example, most of the lands in western Rajasthan are dry and barren. Farmers are being given financial assistance and technical support for the use of solar energy on these lands. In the Barmer area bordering western Rajasthan, solar pumps are being provided to the farmers at a good subsidy under the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana.
In the current financial year, a target has been set to install solar power pump plants on the lands of 1120 farmers of Barmer. All these farmers will also be given a grant of up to 60% for this. Let us tell you that under this project of solar energy pump, 60% subsidy is being given to the farmers of the state for setting up solar energy pump plants of 7.5 HP and 10 HP capacity.
