Today many farmers are earning additional income from the business of animal husbandry and are also becoming prosperous. Understanding the benefits of animal husbandry, the government is also encouraging the common people to start animal husbandry. The government has started the National Livestock Mission with this objective. The goal has been set to help especially small animal keepers, and the government also wants to do the work of improving the breed of animals through this. It is worth noting that there are three sub-missions under the National Livestock Mission. These are Livestock and Poultry Breed Development Sub-Mission, Fodder Development Sub-Mission and Innovation and Expansion Sub-Mission.

The main objective of the National Livestock Mission is to start new employment by developing enterprises in small ruminant animals, poultry and pig rearing sector and fodder production sector. Apart from this, productivity per animal is also being increased by improving the breed of animals through this scheme. This is increasing the production of meat, egg, goat milk, wool and fodder. Under this scheme, the government provides assistance of 25 to 50 lakh rupees for different works. For more information about the scheme, visit www.nlm.udyamimitra.in and apply online.
