The Government Offers Affordable Seeds, Fertilizers, and Agricultural Equipment to Farmers

Many farmers face challenges in purchasing expensive agricultural inputs. To assist such farmers, the Madhya Pradesh government has launched initiatives to provide affordable seeds, fertilizers, and agricultural equipment. Various schemes are being implemented to ensure these resources reach farmers. Both the state and central governments are working together to connect farmers with modern agricultural techniques and facilities.

Under the Food and Nutrition Security Program, managed by the state’s Agriculture Department, 5.15 lakh farmers have already benefited. Similarly, the Madhya Pradesh State Millet Mission Scheme has supported 66,412 farmers. These programs enable farmers to purchase seeds and fertilizers at reduced prices.

The Sub-Mission on Agriculture Extension, a Central Government initiative, provides farmers with knowledge of the latest agricultural techniques. During 2023-24, 2.35 lakh farmers received training, participated in Krishi Vigyan Melas, and attended seminars, enriching their agricultural knowledge.

Through the Seed Village Program, 2.92 lakh farmers received 80,000 quintals of seeds. Additionally, free soil health cards were distributed to 9.73 lakh farmers. These cards provide tailored fertilizer and nutrient recommendations for better crop yield.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, farmers benefited from a 55% subsidy on micro-irrigation techniques such as sprinklers and drip systems. Furthermore, a subsidy of up to 75% was offered for installing pumps for tube wells and other irrigation systems.
