Many states of Eastern India including North India are in the grip of fog. Due to this, the day temperature has become very low. In Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, day temperatures remain between 12 degrees to 16 degrees and cold has increased. There is a possibility of rain in Madhya Pradesh, southern Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and southern Bihar between January 1 and January 4. There may be very light snowfall in the mountains. Rainfall will increase in South India and a low-pressure area has formed in the Arabian Sea.
