To promote urban farming of fruits, flowers, and vegetables, the Bihar government has launched the “Rooftop Gardening Scheme.” Under this scheme, people can grow plants on their rooftops and avail up to 75% subsidy. The scheme is applicable in urban areas of Patna, Bhagalpur, Gaya, and Muzaffarpur.
Two Options Under the Scheme:

Farming Bed Scheme – For gardening on 300 sq. ft. rooftops, with a total cost of ₹48,574, farmers will receive ₹36,430.50 as a subsidy.

Pot Scheme – For gardening in pots, with a total cost of ₹8,975, beneficiaries will get ₹6,731.25 as a subsidy.

How to Apply?
Interested individuals can apply online through the official website of the Directorate of Horticulture, Bihar. After applying, beneficiaries must deposit their share of the cost, following which the process will be completed.
