The Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar flagged off a Bell helicopter with spray equipment. The helicopter will leave for the Air Force Station at Uttarlai, Barmer, where it will initially be stationed and will control the locust attack in different areas from there.

The helicopter will be operated by a single pilot and has the capacity to carry 250 liters of pesticides at one go. This helicopter will spray pesticides in an area of ​​25 to 50 hectares at a time.

Earlier, India has also done something to control locusts, which is being praised all over the world. Actually, India has resorted to drones for locust control and has also become the first country in the world to do so.

However, the Agriculture Department is making arrangements to deal with the locust team. For this, the Agriculture Department has prepared a team who will kill them by spraying chemical on locusts. For this, help of fire brigade will also be taken.

Before Bhopal, locust teams damaged crops in Vidisha. It is being told that the grasshopper team has attacked here for the fourth time. Here, the crops of moong and vegetables have suffered heavy losses in 6 villages.

In the third stage, they start walking in the herd, so dig a trench about 2.5 feet deep and 1 foot wide in the walking direction so that Nymphs of locust fall in it and then destroy it by pressing into the soil.
  • Locusts can be killed by spraying them with pesticides.
  • For locust control, Chlorpyrifos 20% EC @ 480 ml or Chlorpyrifos 50% EC @ 200 ml or Deltamethrin 2.8% EC @ 200 ml or Lambda-cyhalothrin 5% EC @ 160 ml or Lambda-cyhalothrin 10% WP @ 80 gm or Malathion 50% EC @ 740 ml pesticides can be used on these locusts @ 200 liters of water per acre.
