How to control fruit fly in watermelon

How to control fruit fly in watermelon
  • The female fly  lays eggs in soft fruits

  • The maggot comes out of these eggs and makes a tunnel in the fruit and eats the fruit’s pulp, which causes the fruit to rot.

  • The fruits become curved and become weak and separate from the vine.

  • On the damaged fruit, the egg keeps the fluid coming out from the given place, which later becomes a khurnt.

  • For the control of this pest, use Fenpropathrin 10% EC @ 400 ml/acre or Profenofos 40% + cypermethrin 4% EC @ 400 ml/acre or Spinosid 45% SC @ 60 ml /acre.

  • UseBeauveria Bassiana   @ 250gram/acre as a biological treatment.
