Nutrition management in okra at the time of sowing

  • In okra, nutrition management is very important at the time of sowing.

  • Nutrition management gives the okra crop a good head start.

  • Germination percentage can be increased to a great extent.

  • This results in better vegetative growth and also improves plant health.

  • It promotes growth in every stage of the plant-like flowering, fruiting, leaf etc. as well as the growth of the white roots.

  • Use DAP @ 75 kg / acre + MOP @ 30 kg / acre for nutrition management.

  • As a biological treatment, mix TRICHODERMA VIRIDE @ 500 gram / acre + NPK bacteria @ 100 gram / acre + MYCORRHIZA  @ 2 kg / acre mix all together and  use as soil treatment  at the time of sowing.

The sea on both sides of the country has become active and low pressure is being created. One after the other low-pressure areas will continue to form in the Bay of Bengal. There is also a low pressure in the Arabian Sea. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, including Karnataka Tamil Nadu, are likely to receive heavy rains. Rain is likely over Northeast East and Central India including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

How to control termites in Rabi crops

  • Termite is a polyphagous insect, which means that it attacks on all crops, termites cause a lot of damage to the roots of the plants. They also eat the stem when the infestation is high.

  • Crops like potato,  tomato, chilli, brinjal, cauliflower, cabbage, mustard, radish, wheat etc. are the major crops that are susceptible to termite.

  • Timely management is necessary to control this pest.

  • Seeds should be sown after seed treatment with insecticide

  • Must treat soil with biological insecticide METARHIZIUM ANISOPLIAE 

  • Raw cow dung manure should not be used because raw dung is the staple food of this insect.

  • To control termites, CHLORPYRIPHOS 20 % EC @ 1 litre should be mixed with 40 kg of sand and applied to the field at the time of sowing.
