Along with this, an additional facility of 30 thousand crores for farmers (Additional Emergency Working Capital) has also been announced, which will benefit 3 crore farmers and will be funded by NABARD Bank.

To give a boost to the rural economy, there has also been talking of giving Rs 4200 crore to the states under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund. Let us know that this portal, known as National Agricultural Market (E-NAM), has recently been connected to 177 new mandis. After this, the total number of mandis in e-NAM now stands at 962. Earlier the number was 785.

Any farmer can register himself on this portal. Farmers can upload their produce for sale online to the mandis registered in the e-NAM and traders can also bid for the lots available for sale under the e-NAM from any location.

The premium for crop insurance is 12%, in which the farmer pays around 2% and the state and central government combine the remaining amount. In the coming time, due to more and more farmers joining this scheme, the premium is likely to decrease further.
