The Reserve Bank has given relief to crores of farmers amid the ongoing nationwide lockdown due to Corona infection. This relief will be provided to crores of farmers of the country who take crop loans from banks through Kisan Credit Card. The Reserve Bank of India has extended the period for repaying the next installment of the crop loan to 31 May.

Apart from this, RBI has also provided relief in the interest rates of farmers. Now farmers can repay the next installment of their crop loan till May 31 at the old rate of only 4% per annum.

A letter was issued on Wednesday on behalf of the Reserve Bank on this subject. It has been clarified in this letter that along with the benefit of a three months moratorium on crop loans due to the Corona crisis, farmers will not have to pay punitive interest for three months.

The conference was chaired by Saudi Arabia’s Minister for Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman Alfaazali.

Union Agriculture Minister Tomar welcomed the initiative of Saudi Arabia to bring the G-20 countries on a platform to consider ways to ensure the continuity of food supplies, including the livelihood of farmers. Tomar discussed the exemptions being given to agriculture amid the ongoing lock-down in India and apprised it to all his counterpart agriculture ministers.

Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for bad weather in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Konkan, and Goa.

Wheat procurement continues in MP, Wheat worth Rs 400 crore has been purchased so far

Taking all necessary precautions given the Corona crisis, wheat procurement was started on the support price in all the districts of Madhya Pradesh except Indore, Ujjain, and Bhopal from last 15 April. Today, a week has passed since this procurement work started.

In this entire week, wheat worth Rs 400 crore has been purchased from about 1.25 lakh farmers in the last week through about four thousand cooperative societies of the state. The procurement process is being extended further from Tuesday. In this, messages will be sent to about 25 thousand farmers. Society will call 25 farmers, with 20 small and five big farmers.

Madhya Pradesh: 15 lakh farmers will get big relief, 2990 crores to be received under crop insurance

There is very good news from the government for farmers in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has said that a total of 2990 crores of insurance amount will be given to 15 lakh farmers of the state under crop insurance.

This large amount will be given to the farmers of the state till next week. Under crop insurance, this amount will be directly delivered to the farmers’ accounts. This decision was taken during the meeting of the Department of Agriculture in the Ministry where Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary Agriculture Ajit Kesari, and other officials were also present.

During the Kharif season of 2018, about 35 lakh farmers of the state had insured their crops. Now 8.40 lakh of these farmers have to get the insurance amount of 1930 crores. Apart from this, in the Rabi season of 2018-19, 25 lakh farmers of the state had insurance for Rabi crops, out of which 6.60 lakh farmers have to get an insurance amount of 1060 crore.

Now in this series, Union Agriculture Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar has launched the Kisan Rath Mobile App on Friday, which will facilitate the transport of agricultural products.

Along with Mr. Tomar, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Shri Parshottam Rupala and Mr. Kailash Chaudhary and Secretary of the Ministry Mr. Sajay Aggarwal and other concerned senior officials were also present. On this occasion, Mr. Tomar said that “In the current crisis, the work of agriculture also needs to be done very fast.”

He said that “There were some problems in transportation of agricultural products, and to overcome this, Kisan Rath Mobile App has been launched. This mobile app has proved a milestone in the smooth transport of agricultural products across the country.”

Narendra Tomar spoke to state agriculture ministers through video conferencing

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Wednesday interacted with agriculture ministers of all the states through video conferencing and took stock of the agriculture-related work being done during the ongoing nationwide lockdown to reduce the infection of coronavirus.

The video conference was held at Krishi Bhavan on Wednesday and Union Agriculture Minister Tomar was accompanied by Union Ministers of State for Agriculture Purushottam Rupala and Kailash Choudhary. He discussed issues like harvesting and purchasing of rabi crops with the state agriculture ministers. Along with this, he also discussed the arrangement of ensuring the availability of fertilizers and seeds and other essential items for sowing the next season’s crop. A day earlier, the Union Agriculture Minister also interacted with the officials of the department through video conferencing.

At present, the harvesting season of many rabi crops including wheat, mustard, the gram is going on, as well as the sowing of Zayed crops like cotton, chili, and moong. Harvesting or sowing of crops cannot be stopped, therefore, the government has allowed it even during the lockdown and is taking new steps on it daily.

4.91 crore farmer families received Rs. 9826 crore under Kisan Samman Nidhi

Currently, there is a lockdown to prevent coronavirus infection across the country, due to which poor farmer families are facing a shortage of money. In view of the same shortage, the Central Government made a huge relief package of Rs 1.70 lakh crore under the “Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana” and under the “Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana” an installment of 2000 rupees in the first week of April to help the farmer families, The announcement was made on behalf of the government.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, 8.7 crore farmer families will be given money, out of which the government has released the installment of this financial year to about 4.91 crore farmers from March 24 to April 03. 9826 crore has been provided to 4.91 crore farmer families under it. The Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar gave information about the amount given to the farmers.
