Betel cultivation is done by many farmers in many states of the country and gets good profits. The government is also encouraging the farmers to take up betel cultivation and is also giving grants.

Madhya Pradesh government is giving a huge subsidy of 50% to the farmers growing betel. Let us tell you that the agricultural expenditure for cultivating betel in an area of ​​500 square meters comes to about 50 thousand rupees. The government is giving half of this entire expenditure i.e. twenty-five thousand rupees as a grant.

Leaf curl problem is coming due to leaf curl virus in chili

  • Sucking pest whitefly and thrips are the main vectors of the leaf curl virus in chilli.

  • The whitefly and thrips spread the virus on plants known as Chura-mura (leaf curl virus) which also causes leaves to be damaged.

  •  Ripe patches are formed on the mature leaves and the leaves are shredded into small cuts.

  • This can cause the leaves to dry or fall, and also inhibit the growth of chilli crops.

  • For management of this virus problem, control of sucking pests is essential. For its control, spray Acephate 50%+ Imidacloprid 1.8%SP @ 400 gm /acre or Diafenthiuron 50 % Wp @ 400 gm /acre .

  • In organic management, use METARHIZIUM @ 1 kg / acre or bavaria bassiana at the rate of 250 gm / acre.
