Adopt seed treatment to get rid of diseases of crops at a low cost

  • The production can be increased by 8 – 10 percent by seed treatment in crops. To increase the productivity of crops, it is necessary that there is no outbreak of insects/diseases in the crops. This seed treatment can also be done by seed dressing drum. 

  • To increase the productivity of crops and to minimize the emergence of insects/diseases in crops, it is very important to do 100% seed treatment before sowing.

  • While doing seed treatment, keep in mind the FIR sequence. First of all, treat the seed with fungicide then insecticide and finally with culture.

  • Advantages – Seed treatment is a low-cost technique. Farmers can easily adopt it.

  • Seed treatment can ensure the germination of plants so that along with improving the growth of the plant, the damage caused by diseases and pests can be controlled.

  • Plant growth can be increased by using plant growth factor hormone.

  • Crop production increases with the increase of nitrogen fixation capacity by Rhizobium culture.

  • Seed treatment encourages the plant population and its high productivity.

  • After seed treatment, there is less need for other measures of protection in the standing crop.

  • Precautions- Treat the seeds of crops only in prescribed quantities.

  • Sowing should be done immediately after drying the treated seed in shade. Do not keep the treated seed for long, otherwise, the seed will get spoiled.

  • Be sure to check the expiry date before using chemicals.

  • After treatment, bury the boxes or bags in the soil as necessary.

  • Keep chemicals out of reach from children and livestock.

Urea provides 46% nitrogen while the atmosphere contains 78% nitrogen. This nitrogen in the atmosphere is made available to the plants by Rhizobium bacteria in pulse crops and Azotobacter bacteria in other crops. The phosphorus in DAP, Single Super Phosphate fertilizers is unattainable for the plants. PSB bacteria makes this phosphorus available to the plants.

Types of bacterial culture

  • Azotobacter culture- Oilseed crops like rapeseeds, sesame and cereals like wheat, paddy, maize etc.

  • Rhizobium culture- Useful for pulse crops like urad, mung, groundnut, guar, soybean etc.

  • PSB culture – Useful for all types of crops.

Method of seed treatment with bacterial fertilizer (culture) 

  • To treat the seed required for one acre with culture, make a solution by heating 100 grams of jaggery and water as required. When the solution cools, add 250 grams of bacterial fertilizer to it. Coat the seeds with the solution in an even layer. Sow the seeds after drying them in the shade.

Precautions

  • Use the appropriate culture for the crop.

  • Keep the culture packet in a cool and well-shaded place.

  • Mix culture before the last use/ expiry date.

  • Add the culture only when the jaggery solution cools down.

  • Dry the treated seed in shade and do not sow the seeds by mixing it with fertilizers.

Students studying in Hindi medium have to face problems many times. This is because most of the higher education is given through the English medium. Students who want to study medicine also face this problem. However, the Madhya Pradesh government has decided that now students who have studied through the Hindi medium can also take medical education through the Hindi medium. For this, it has been decided to do away with the requirement of English.

This decision has been taken on the day of the Hindi Diwas. It is being told that the syllabus will be prepared in Hindi for the students for medical studies. State Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang told these things. He said that a committee would soon be formed to prepare the syllabus in Hindi.
