Weather Update

The threat of a possible storm over the Bay of Bengal has now been reduced. Light to moderate rain is likely over Kerala, Karnataka and South Andhra Pradesh including Tamil Nadu. In many districts of Rajasthan and Maharashtra, along with some districts of West Madhya Pradesh and East Gujarat, there is a possibility of rain between 7 to 9 March. Apart from this, the weather of East and North-East India will remain dry.

A machine helpful in making profit from cow dung

Most of the Indian farmers also do animal husbandry work. Through this, they earn daily income. A good income can be earned from the use of cattle milk to cow dung. Farmers sell milk in some way, but when it comes to the management of cow dung, they face problems in earning profit from it.

To get rid of these problems, the 31-year-old youth of Punjab, Karthik Pal has made two modern machines. In the year 2017, Karthik made a wood making machine from cow dung and later he also made a dung drying machine.

With the help of this machine, the water is separated from the wet dung in a few minutes and its powder is made. This is a 5 hp power cow dung dryer automatic machine, its price has been kept at 2 lakh 40 thousand. Apart from this, 3 HP power dung dryer machine has also been made for small farmers and its price has been kept at one lakh 40 thousand rupees.

  • It is one of the major insect pests in citrus plants, which is active on new tender leaves during autumn and spring and causes more damage during flowering and fruit formation in the month of March-April.

  • This insect is also a carrier of greening disease in citrus plants.

  • This insect is small, 3 – 4 mm long, brown in colour, with transparent wings.

  • This insect lays eggs on unopened leaf buds which are bright yellow in colour.

  • Both nymphs and adults damage the plant by sucking the sap from the leaves, tender stems and flowers. 

  • Due to this the leaves turn dry and fall and eventually the twigs also start drying.

  • The nymphs of this insect secrete a crystalline honey-like liquid which attracts the growth of the fungus and consequently the process of photosynthesis is affected.

  • For its management, spraying of Quinalphos [Celquin] @ 700 ml or Profenophos 40% + Cypermethrin 04% EC [ProfeNova] @ 400 ml/acre can be done.

The Deep Depression formed in the Bay of South West Bengal will give rain in South Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, South-North Karnataka and Kerala including Tamil Nadu. Between 7 and 9 March, there is a possibility of rain in Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and East Gujarat.
