Farmers are getting a 50% subsidy for betel cultivation

The central government is encouraging farmers to promote betel cultivation in the country. For this, grants are being given to the farmer brothers, so that they do not face financial problems during farming. The government has selected the regions of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh for this. Where farmers are being given grants under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana-Raftaar.

Under this scheme, the central government with the help of state governments is providing 50% assistance for the establishment of betel groves in clusters for betel cultivation. For this, farmers are being provided Rs 50453 for a maximum of 1000 sqm. So far, a total of 104 hectares have been covered in Uttar Pradesh from the year 2018-19 to 2021-22 under this scheme. Whereas in Madhya Pradesh, this facility has been made available to an area of ​​44.4 hectares.

Apart from this, Krishi Vigyan Kendras have also been established to provide necessary planting material for betel cultivation to the farmers.
