This scheme related to fertilizers will change the fate of farmers

The agricultural sector is the most crucial part of the Indian economy. However, this area is also economically sensitive. The economic condition of the people working in this sector i.e. farmers is not strong. In such a situation, many schemes are being run by the central and state governments, so the farmers’ economic condition can be strengthened. In this episode ‘PM Pranam Yojana’ is started by the central government.

The full name of this scheme is ‘Enrichment of Alternative Nutrients for Agricultural Management, which means to promote the use of other nutrients in place of fertilizers such as urea. At the same time, the objective of this scheme is to encourage the use of balanced fertilizers as well as to promote the combination of organic fertilizers. Along with this, efforts will also be made to reduce the subsidy burden on chemical fertilizers through the scheme.

Features of this plan-
No separate budget will be earmarked for this scheme. The expenditure to be done in the scheme will be saved through the existing scheme being run by the Department of Fertilizers at the Center and the state, this remaining amount will be funded and invested in PM Pranam Yojana. 50% of the money saved by the states will be returned to the state as a grant. While 70% of this grant will be used for the technical expenditure of alternative fertilizers and alternatively for asset creation, the remaining 30% of the grant amount will be used to encourage farmers, panchayats, farmer-producer organizations, and self-help groups.

Also, the urea used by the Center in a year will be compared with the average consumption of urea during the last three years so that the benefit from this scheme can be calculated.
