- In wheat crop rust disease is also known as ‘Gerua’
- This disease has three types: yellow rust, black rust, brown rust.
- In this disease yellow, black, and brown colored powder gets deposited on the leaves.
- As the temperature drops, the infestation of this disease increases.
- The accumulation of powder on the leaves deprives the leaves their ability to make food.
- Due to which the leaves start drying greatly affecting the production.
- For prevention of this disease use Hexaconazole 5% SC@ @ 400 ml/acre or Propiconazole 25% EC @ 200 ml/acre or Tebuconazole 25.9% EC @ 200 ml/acre
- As a biological treatment use Trichoderma Viride @ 500 gram/acre or Pseudomonas Fluorescens @ 250gram/acre.

Insect management in watermelon
- Most of the farmers have planted watermelon crops in their fields.
- Watermelon crop is still in the early stage of germination due to which insect pests in watermelon crop are more visible.
- In the early growth phase, leaf miner, sucking pests attack on watermelon crops .
- To control, use Thiamethoxam 12.6% + lambda cyhalothrin 9.5% ZC @ 80 ml/acre or Fipronil 40% + Imidacloprid 40% WG @ 40 gram/acre or Abamectin 1.9% EC @ 150 ml/acre.
- Use Beauveria Bassiana@ 250 gram/acre as a biological treatment.
Suran cultivation will be done in this district of MP, there will be more benefit in less time
Suran, also known as jimikand, is actually planted mostly in the gardens. But now its cultivation is being started in Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh. By doing this, other farmers will also be motivated to cultivate it.
Let us know that Suran is a crop that gives more benefits in lower agricultural costs. That is why its cultivation can prove to be a profitable deal for the farmers. Its cultivation is being started by 20 farmers from three villages of Katangi tehsil of Balaghat district. These farmers will cultivate it in an area of about 10 acres.
Please tell that Suran is a cash crop and its sowing takes place from February to June. Its crop is ready in about nine to ten months and its price in the market is more than Rs 40-50 per kg. Its crop does not take much irrigation and the farmer does not have to work too hard.
