This year, the havoc of heat is being seen very much in the entire country. In many states, the heat has broken all previous records. Due to this scorching heat, incidents of fire in crops are also being seen and farmers are facing huge losses. If you also want to keep your crops safe from such incidents, then you can take advantage of the special scheme of the government. The name of this scheme is Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.

This scheme was started by PM Modi in the year 2016. Under this, farmers are given compensation for crops damaged in case of unseasonal rains, heat wave and storm. If sowing of seeds is not possible due to natural disaster, then compensation is also available in such a situation through this scheme. Compensation is also available in situations like hailstorm, waterlogging and land slide through this scheme. Symptoms and prevention of gummosis disease in cucurbitaceous crops

Raised blisters start appearing in the vines affected by Gummosis disease. After some time these blisters turn into sores. As the disease progresses, brown gum is secreted from these blisters. The number of flowers and fruits decreases in the vines affected by this disease.

Control: Use fertilizers and nutrients in balanced quantities to increase the immunity of plants. To prevent the spread of the disease, pluck and destroy the affected parts. Do not leave crop residues affected by the disease in the field. Remove the affected residues from the field and destroy them by burning them. Avoid water logging in the field. Make proper arrangements for drainage.

If the disease appears, spray M-45 (Mancozeb 75% WP) 400 gm/acre or Jatayu (Chlorothalonil 75% WP) 400 gm/acre mixed in 200 litres of water.

Temperatures drop in Gujarat & Rajasthan, heat rises in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana

The easterly winds have been replaced by hot and dry westerly winds. Therefore, heat wave has arrived in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and western Uttar Pradesh, and temperatures have risen a lot. However, these areas have got relief from the sultry heat. On the other hand, the south-western winds coming from the Arabian Sea have dropped the temperature in Rajasthan and Gujarat by 2 to 4 degrees. The heat wave is now on the verge of ending there. The cyclone made landfall on the coast of Bangladesh and West Bengal last night. Heavy rains were observed here along with strong winds. The monsoon will reach Kerala on time and there is a good possibility of rain in South India. There will be torrential rains in North East India during the next two days.

Open a soil testing center in your village on huge subsidy

There is good news for unemployed people living in rural areas. Actually, farmers can earn a lot by opening a soil testing center in their village. The government also gives subsidy for this, so there is no tension about the cost involved in it.

According to the chairman of the Ballia-based Bhoomi Parikshan Laboratory, “Soil testing is a very important process for farmers, in which our agriculture department employees go and bring the farmers’ soil to the laboratory. On the basis of soil testing, farmers know what type of fertilizer to put in the field, so that there can be good production on that soil. Every year we get a target of soil testing from the UP government.”

Any farmer or farmer’s son who has studied BSc Agriculture can open this village level soil testing center. Under this scheme, they are given a subsidy of ₹ 2,00,000. The benefits of this scheme can be availed on the basis of first come first serve.

Identification and prevention of Powdery mildew disease in Moong crop

A white powdery structure appears on the upper surface of the leaf, which later turns brown. This white powder grows rapidly and spreads in the form of a cover on the upper surface of the leaf. In severe infestation, the lower surface of the leaf is also affected. In the severe stage of the disease, the leaves of the infected plant dry up completely. The leaves start falling untimely when the weather is favourable, such symptoms appear in the branches and fruits apart from the leaves.

Control: Select disease-resistant seed varieties. For biological control, treat the seed with Combat (Trichoderma viride)  8 gm/kg of seed.

Spray Soluble Sulfur  600 gm/acre or Dhanustin (Carbendazim 50 %WP) 200 gm/acre or Tilt (Propiconazole 25% EC)  200 ml/acre mixed in 200 litres of water.

Sea storm Rimal has hit the coast of Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal as a powerful storm. During this time the speed of the winds will be 120 to 130 kilometers. Strong waves will rise in the sea and there will be torrential rain. Now the direction of the winds has changed over Rajasthan and Gujarat. Due to the effect of south-western winds coming from the Arabian Sea, the temperature of both the states has dropped, the temperature may fall further. Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh will not get relief from the heat yet. Monsoon will knock on Kerala on time. Now there is a possibility of rain in Mumbai including the coast of Maharashtra.

In bottle gourds due to the fruit fly pest, the problem of crookedness of fruits is seen. These insects lay eggs on the bottle gourd surface and inside the fruit. Due to this, the fruits start to be crooked, it mostly attacks the young and soft fruits. Due to this holes are made in the fruits and the sap is seen coming out of the holes, due to which this fruit gets infected and starts rotting and the shape of the fruits deteriorates. Fruits start falling prematurely.

Prevention: To prevent this, apply Neemgold Neem Oil at the rate of 1000 ml/Acre or Pheromone – Fruit fly trap at the rate of 10/Acre or Bave Curb (Beauveria bassiana 5% WP) at the rate of 500 g / acre mixed with 200 litres of water.

The effect of severe cyclonic storm will be seen on India and Bangladesh, see update

A deep depression has formed in the Bay of Bengal which will turn into a sea storm today. It can take the form of a severe cyclonic storm. It will cross the coast of Bangladesh on the night of 26th, it seems that it will landfall near Khepupara. While crossing the Taco, the wind speed can be up to 120 to 130 kilometers per hour. High waves will rise along with strong winds on the northern coast of Odisha and light to moderate rain will occur. Its maximum effect will be seen on southern Bangladesh, heavy damage is expected here. Strong winds will also blow along with heavy rain in Manipur including Mizoram and Tripura of India. The heat wave will continue in North West and North India. There will be heavy rains in Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands including Kerala and Karnataka.
