Be careful those who take wrong advantage of PM Kisan Yojana

The central government is running ‘PM Kisan Samman Yojana’ to help farmers across the country financially. Through this scheme, 6 thousand rupees are being transferred every year in the bank accounts of the farmers, which are given in three instalments of 2-2 thousand rupees at an interval of 4 months. Where lakhs of farmers of the country are getting benefited through this scheme.

Till now, 11 installments of Rs. 2 thousand each have been sent to the account of the farmers. However, it has been seen that there are many people who are taking advantage of this scheme in the wrong way, and who are already financially capable. The government has taken strict steps after such cases came to the fore. It has been decided by the government that full money will be withdrawn from such beneficiaries as soon as possible.

According to the reports, there are many people who are taking advantage of PM Kisan Samman Yojana along with paying taxes. Now the government has started issuing notices for recovery from such people. At the same time, orders have also been issued to take strict action from the government if the entire money of the scheme is not returned. For this, the facility of refunding money has also been given on PM Kisan Portal.

What is natural farming?

Natural farming

Natural farming is an ancient farming method based on indigenous cows. In which indigenous  cow urine and cow dung is used in crop production as an alternative to chemical fertilizers and other products of chemicals, it maintains the natural nature of the land. Chemical pesticides are not used in natural farming. In this type of farming, the elements which are found in nature are used as pesticides in agriculture.

Nutrients are given to the plants in the form of manure through cow dung, cow urine, bacterial manure, crop residue. In natural farming, the crop is protected from harmful microorganisms and pests by the bacteria, friendly insects and organic insecticides available in nature.

(Four principles of natural farming)

  • No ploughing the fields. That is, neither  ploughing in them, nor turning the soil is to be done. The earth does its own plowing naturally through the penetration of plant roots and earthworms and small animals, and micro-organisms.

  • No chemical fertilizers should be used. In this method only green manure and cow dung manure are used.

  • Weeding should not be done. Neither by plow nor by the use of herbicides. Weeds play a major role in making the soil fertile and in balancing bio-fraternity . The basic principle is that weeds should be controlled rather than eliminated completely.

  • Do not depend on chemicals at all. The problems of disease and pest imbalance began to arise in the fields from the time the weak plants started growing due to wrong practices like tillage and use of fertilizers. By not tampering, the balance of nature remains absolutely right.

Know, how to prepare onion nursery in Kharif?

Let us know that the bed for the onion nursery should be made in such a place where there is proper arrangement for irrigation and drainage. The land should be flat and fertile. There should be no shade trees around. To prepare the seedlings, a bed of 3-7 meters long and 1 meter wide should be made about 15-20 cm high from the ground. 20 beds of above size are sufficient for planting in one acre.

Mix 25 grams of Trichoderma viride (Rhizo Care) and 25 grams (Seaweed, Amino Acids, Humic Acid, Mycorrhiza) (Maxmyco) with 10 kg of cow dung manure, per square meter, in the soil evenly and 1 meter width And prepare high rise beds with drainage facility of 3-7 meters length. Sowing should be done in rows at a depth of 1- 2 cm and at a distance of 5 cm.

After the preparation of the bed, the seed must be treated with fungicide such as Captan or Thyram (2.0-2.5 g per kg seed) so that the plants can be saved from the outbreak of diseases that may occur in the beginning. Sow the seed thus treated in the prepared beds. Immediately after sowing the seed, light irrigation should be done in the beds with a fountain or Hazare and after that irrigation should be continued at an interval of one day. The nursery planted in this way becomes ready for transplanting in about 35-40 days.

Importance of seed treatment in crops

  • Seed treatment prevents seed borne and soil borne diseases.

  • 70 to 80 percent of the farmers of the crops in the country do not change the seeds and use only the old seeds. Due to this, the risk of pest and disease is high, resulting in increased cost. Whereas seed borne and soil borne diseases are prevented by seed treatment. Only seed treatment can increase production by 6 to 10 percent.

  • Apart from good germination with seed treatment, the growth of plants is also good.

Measures for identification and prevention of downy mildew disease in pumpkin category crops

Introduction of the disease –  downy mildew is a serious problem of Cucurbit Crops like watermelon, melon, cucumber, pumpkin, Ridge gourd etc. Which is caused by a fungus called Pseudoperonospora cubensis. Once infested, the disease spreads rapidly, adversely affecting fruit quality and production.

Symptoms of the disease – Symptoms of the disease first appear as small yellow spots or water-soaked lesions on older leaves. A white downy mildew coating appears on the lower surface of the leaf. Due to the high humidity in the environment for a long time, the spread of the disease is rapid.

Disease control – Biological control – Spraying of Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 500 gm per acre can be done.

Chemical control – Spray Azoxystrobin 11% + Tebuconazole 18.3% SC @ 300 ml or Metalaxyl 8% + Mancozeb 64% @ 500 g/acre.
